The Vibro-Tool provides a simple method of permanently marking glass or metal objects. Perfectly balanced to fit the hand and light weight(1 lb.), the Vibro-Tool handles as easily as writing with a pencil. Marking is accomplished mechanically by vibrations of the marking tool-120 reciprocal strokes per second-consumes less current than a 60 watt light bulb. The use of the Vibro-Tool ranges from engraving simple identification numbers and chemical nomenclature on bottles or slides to engraving special calibration markings on equipment and experimental dials, gauges and measures. A few suggested uses include marking test tubes, beakers, jars, flasks, watch glasses, stock bottles, microscope slides, reagent bottles, manometric scales, metallurgical specimens, etc. 3, record 19, English, - Vibro%2DTool

Dextre [Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator] is designed so that only one arm can move at a time in order to avoid self-collision, achieve greater stability and maintain operational similarity with Canadarm2. The greater stability is provided by the immobile arm, which is first commanded to anchor Dextre to an ISS [International Space Station] stabilization point. At the tip of each arm, we find a "hand", known technically as the Orbital Replacement Unit/Tool Changeout Mechanism(OTCM). The OTCM consists of a set of parallel retractable jaws, which serve to grip payloads and tools. Each OTCM is also equipped with a retractable motorized socket wrench to mate and demate mechanisms on-orbit, as well as lights and a black and white camera. Dextre lower body is equipped with a pair of pan/tilt colour cameras that allow astronauts aboard the ISS, and engineers on the ground, to monitor the task, which is out of direct eyesight. 1, record 28, English, - orbital%20replacement%20unit%2Ftool%20changeout%20mechanism

1, record 28, French, - changeur%20d%27outils%20et%20d%27unit%C3%A9s%20rempla%C3%A7ables%20sur%20orbite

The Kestrel line of wind meters or anemometers... in less than 60 seconds, provide the answer to the major spraying season question that haunts producers each morning :"How windy is it?" The Kestrel 1000... gives a fast answer to wind speed average and gusts.... the model 2000 will add temperature and for those really cold days on the sprayer, add wind chill to that list. The 3000 adds humidity, dew point and heat stress index.... But for an all out weather station you can hold in the palm of your hand, the Kestrel 4000 provides all of this, in addition to wet bulb, altitude, air density and barometric pressure. Most importantly, 250 of these readings can be recorded in the device's memory and later transferred to the farm computer.... Michael Naughton of Nielsen Keller-man said the company released the 1000 in 1999 with the intention of it being a tool for sailors and outdoor sports and weather enthusiasts. "Farmers are turning out to be a really big part of our business. The 4000 is really popular with them. We were surprised by the demand for little hand-held weather stations, "he said. 2, record 30, English, - hand%20held%20weather%20station

The planer is a machine for planing or "surfacing" wood by means of a rapidly revolving cutter which chips off the rough surface in many shavings. The piece to be planed is passed over (or under) the revolving cutter by power feed, leaving a smooth or finished surface.
