The "Forum for the Future" is a series of conferences to be held between 1997 and the year 2000 and organized by the OECD. They are intended to prepare the ground for a World Leaders’ Meeting planned for the year 2000 when the world exhibition takes place in Hannover. The are designed to offer a positive strategic vision of the future in contrast with the doomsday atmosphere often prevalent at the turn of a century.
