In conventional vibration testing of space hardware, the acceleration input to the base of a test article is controlled to specifications that are typically derived from the article interface acceleration at higher level of assembly. This conventional approach to testing has been known for over 30 years to greatly overtest the test article at its own natural frequencies. In recent years, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory led the development and implementation of an improved method called force limited vibration(FLV) testing. In addition to controlling the input acceleration, the FLV testing measures and limits the reaction forces between the test article and the shaker. 1, record 2, English, - force%20limited%20vibration%20testing

1, record 2, French, - m%C3%A9thode%20d%27essai%20FLV

Visual Vestibular Investigation System(VVIS)(ESA) [European Space Agency]. The VVIS consists of the Body Rotating Device(BRD), Eye Stimulation & Movement Recording System(ESMRS) and Experiment Control System(ECS). The BRD is primarily a seat driven by a motor located in the Spacelab, which is to rotate the test subject, and generates the acceleration. The ESMRS is attached to the top of the BRD and in front of the subject head. This hardware has the darkness curtain, eye stimulation system and eye recording cameras in it, for stimulation and recording of eye movement. 2, record 3, English, - visual%20vestibular%20investigation%20system
