A piano montuno is a distinctive, highly syncopated accompaniment pattern found in Cuban music. Piano montunos are based on a repeated rhythm that lasts for two measures. 2, record 1, English, - piano%20montuno
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The piano montuno. The piano is perhaps the ultimate percussive and harmonic instrument. The role of the pianist in Afro-Cuban music is a more rhythmic one, as he/she plays repeated ostinati(vamps) while also establishing a harmonic foundation. 3, record 1, English, - piano%20montuno

Unlike the DT [diffusion tensor] model, FBA relies on a spherical harmonic representation of diffusion that can more readily represent complex multi-fiber geometry, allowing for anatomically-informative metrics to be separately estimated for distinct fiber populations within a voxel. Specifically, fixel-based analysis utilizes constrained spherical deconvolution(CSD) to estimate fiber orientation distribution functions(fODFs) within each voxel, and then segments fODFs into directionally distinct lobes associated with distinct fiber populations("fixels") within a voxel. 2, record 2, English, - fixel%2Dbased%20analysis

Additive synthesis is, conceptually at least, the simplest of the many sound synthesis techniques. Simply put, the idea is to add signals(usually sine waves of differing amplitudes, frequencies, and phases) together to form a sound of interest... Subtractive synthesis is the dual of additive synthesis. The basic idea is to start with a signal rich in harmonic content, and selectively "remove" signals to create a desired effect. 1, record 3, English, - subtractive%20synthesis

1, record 3, French, - synth%C3%A8se%20soustractive

In the last decades, imaging membrane potential has become a fruitful approach to study neural circuits, especially in invertebrate preparations with large, resilient neurons. At the same time, particularly in mammalian preparations, voltage imaging methods suffer from poor signal to noise and secondary side effects, and they fall short of providing single-cell resolution when imaging of the activity of neuronal populations. As an introduction to these techniques, we briefly review different voltage imaging methods(including organic fluorophores, SHG [second harmonic generation] chromophores, genetic indicators, hybrid, nanoparticles, and intrinsic approaches) and illustrate some of their applications to neuronal biophysics and mammalian circuit analysis. 1, record 28, English, - voltage%20imaging

The power output can be enhanced by connecting two transistors in parallel or by using the push-pull connection. In the latter method, the two transistors are so connected that the collector current in one transistor falls when that in the other transistor rises. Deterministic : A type of signal whose spectrum consists of a collection of discrete components, as opposed to a random signal, whose spectrum is spread out or "smeared" in frequency. Some deterministic signals are periodic, and their spectra consist of harmonic series. Vibration signatures of machines are in general deterministic, containing one or more harmonic series, but they always have non-deterministic components, such as background noise. 2, record 76, English, - deterministic%20signal%20processing

Those experiments in which an auxiliary tone was made to beat with an aural harmonic prove definitely that the phase-relations among harmonic components of a stimulus are detectable, for otherwise these beats would not occur. A harmonic in the stimulus may reinforce or cancel an aural harmonic. Under the method of ’best beats’ we perceive an alternate reinforcement and cancellation due to a constantly changing phase between the auxiliary tone and the aural harmonic. When, however, the auxiliary tone is identical in frequency with the aural harmonic, no beats are heard; but it can be shown that the auditory experience which occurs neverthelesss depends upon the phase-relation between the auxiliary tone and the aural harmonic. 1, record 89, English, - aural%20harmonic

Futhermore, Pioneer's exclusive DASP features two professional applications noise gate and DC offset dither. The first improves the signal-to-noise ratio by about 4. 5dB over systems that do not use noise gating, while the second accounts for about a 3 dB reduction in the total harmonic distortion. 1, record 97, English, - DC%20offset%20dither
