Typical ophiolite sequences are comprised of a thin layer of deep-sea sediments, overlying a sequence of basaltic pillow lavas, sheeted dike complexes, foliated to layered gabbro, and finally an ultramafic complex, which can have an exposed thickness of up to 7 km. This ultramafic section of ophiolite sequences can vary in composition; however, it is most commonly dominated by varieties of peridotite typically associated with the mantle such as harzburgite(olivine and orthopyroxene rich), and lherzolite(olivine, ortho-and clinopyroxene rich), with secondary wehrlite(clinopyroxene and olivine rich) and dunite(olivine rich)... 2, record 1, English, - ultramafic%20complex

Some authors have suggested that [chromitites in harzburgite tectonites] are outliers of the cumulate succession that were incorporated in the tectonite either par gravitational sinking of dense autoliths... or by infolding of the lowermost cumulate layers... 1, record 14, English, - cumulate%20layer

Podiform chromite deposits that occur in the mantle tectonite are younger than their host harzburgite whereas those in the cumulate sequence are presumably syngenetic with their host rocks. 1, record 15, English, - mantle%20tectonite
