The Montreal Council of Social Agencies(MCSA), a co-ordinating organization for English-speaking, non-Roman Catholic social agencies, was formed in 1921 by John Howard Toynbee Falk, head of McGill' s Department of Social Studies, later the McGill University School of Social Workers. Although details of the organization of the MCSA have been modified over the years, the basic structure remained constant : a Board of Directors, elected from the member agencies, directed the MCSA through administrative standing committees and, more importantly, set up numerous special committees to study specific social problems under the aegis of area advisory groups for health, aging, urban renewal, recreation, etc. The overwhelming emphasis of the MCSA on planning and research reflects its role as animator, information exchange and coordinator of a great variety of social agencies and groups, from major hospitals and fund-raising organizations to church groups and boys’ clubs. In 1968, the MCSA merged with its French homologue, the Conseil de Développement Social du Montréal métropolitain. 2, record 1, English, - Conseil%20de%20d%C3%A9veloppement%20social%20du%20Montr%C3%A9al%20m%C3%A9tropolitain

Whereas... cis and trans [are typically defined] as the presence or absence of correspondence between gender identity and gender assigned at birth,... gender modality [is defined] through 'standing in relation to’ because the all-or-nothing nature of ’correspondence’ may be too constraining for the nuances gender modality wishes to capture.... The terminology recognises the difference between, say, trans and cis women, while at the same time recognising that this difference is not one that makes trans women any less or worse women. Whereas trans and cis women have a different gender modality, they share the same gender identity : woman. Discrimination against trans people is often described as discrimination based on gender identity. However, it would be even more accurate to say it is discrimination based on gender modality, as trans people face discrimination because their gender identity doesn’t correspond to the gender they were assigned at birth... 1, record 9, English, - gender%20modality

Squat down towards the bar until your upper thigh is parallel to the floor. Next, grab the bar with a mixed grip with one hand overhand and one hand underhand. Now, drive your hips upward by contracting your quads and glutes. You are attempting to bring the weight upwards as you stand up. As the bar is being lifted off of the floor, begin to straighten your back up so that it is fully erect. This will utilize the muscles in the back. Avalanche risk is the probability or chance of harm resulting from interactions between avalanche hazard and a specific element at risk. Exposure is about where, and for how long the element at risk is positioned in the terrain. For backcountry travel, the exposure component of risk is the single most important consideration for controlling risk. This is because a person is capable of having complete control over where and when they travel, and is therefore charged with absolute responsibility for his or her own risk. Even during periods of high avalanche hazard, a simple reduction in exposure will reduce the risk. 2, record 20, English, - avalanche%20risk
Record number: 20, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Vulnerability is a concept that expresses susceptibility to the impacts of avalanche hazard, and it must relate to a specific element at risk. An old growth tree and a person standing side by side will have very different vulnerabilities to the hazard; therefore, while the hazard may be the same, the risk to each of them will be different. The person may be susceptible to Size 2 avalanches, whereas the tree might be susceptible to only a Size 4 – thus, the person has a higher vulnerability and subsequently higher risk. 2, record 20, English, - avalanche%20risk

In the scientific literature the condition is most commonly called PSE, standing for pale, soft, and exudative pork... Several different terminologies have been used to describe physiological acceleration. Since the terminology may be based either on the action of the accelerating vehicle or the reaction of the passenger, the terms used are often confusing to a reader without prior knowledge of the system of terminology used. Probably the most easily understood system is the eyeballs in, eyeballs out, eyeballs down, eyeballs up, etc., terminology used by test pilots, which refers to the sensations experienced by the person being accelerated. Thus, the acceleration experienced in an aircraft pullout or inside loop is eyeballs down. Note that, in the NASA vehicle(center of gravity displacement) terminology, this is-az acceleration. Some physiological-acceleration terminologies designate accelerations in terms of the equivalent displacement acceleration of the subject as if he were starting from rest. In such terminologies a man standing up or sitting down on the surface of the earth is experiencing 1 g of headward acceleration because of gravity. Other descriptive terms used in this way are footward, forward(the acceleration experienced by a man pressed into the seat back by an accelerating vehicle), rearward, leftward, rightward, spineward, sternumward, and tailward. One terminology based on reaction uses the terms head-to-foot(the acceleration generated by a pullout in an aircraft), chest-to-back, foot-to-head, and back-to-chest. 2, record 29, English, - chest%2Dto%2Dback%20acceleration

For example alcoholics of long standing seem to undergo an almost unlimited number of troubles in their home lives and still maintain the urge to renew relationships or form new ones after the most severe emotional upheavals. Hence, the term "erratic relationship" implies several changes in partners, due to a lack of consistency, regularity, or uniformity in behaviour of the person who appears to have difficulty in settling down. An erratic relationship between 2 persons may also be one in which the level of commonality fluctuates during periods of stress. A man suffering from oppressive stress at work will let his relationship with his partner suffer. The partner reacts negatively and leaves, causing a rift. Once the stress has subsided, the couple once again attempts to rebuild on the commonality, only to fall apart subsequently when other stressors interfere in the process. Given the repetitive cycle of the phenomenon, the relationship is said to be erratic or unstable. Other key terms & expressions : unsettled, unpredictability, liable to change. Not to be confused with "erratic behavior". 2, record 43, English, - erratic%20relationship
