The Global Hawk common ground segment(CGS) consists of a launch and recovery element(LRE), a mission control element(MCE), and communications, and support equipment. The CGS is capable of controlling up to 3 Global Hawk air vehicles simultaneously, to provide near real-time(NRT) transmission of sensor imagery. This system is transportable to any theatre of operations by moving the whole ground segment using no more than 4 C-130 equivalent loads.

The Modular Integrated Communications and Navigation System(MICNS) has been developed by the Harris Corporation(...) to provide the secure data links needed for three important US defence programs. Various MICNS modules are employed in the airborne and ground terminals of the Stand-Off Target Acquisition System(SOTAS), a Doppier radar reconnaissance and target-acquisition system under development by Motorola for the US Army's Black Hawk helicopters.
