Record 2 2021-10-05

English

Subject field(s)
  • Animal Feed (Agric.)
CONT

The early crops consisted mostly of what is called wild hay -- grasses growing naturally in meadows and bottomlands -- as opposed to tame hay, planted specifically as a feed crop.

OBS

Mowing operations drastically alter the structure of hay crops and cause significant disturbance to wildlife using hayfields... However, the amount of disturbance depends on the type of hay crop. Wild hay crops mature late in the growing season and thus provide undisturbed cover through early summer.

CONT

Pendant longtemps, les paysans de montagne ont dû compter sur la fauche du foin sauvage sur les prairies difficiles d'accès [...] afin d'avoir suffisamment de fourrage d'hiver pour leur bétail.

Although the free supply of services will be considered subsequently, it would perhaps be useful, at this juncture, to distinguish between the usage of establishment and supply of services as both will concern the same type of activities exercised by nationals of a member state on the territory of another member state. Professors Stein and Hay state that "establishment connotes a continuous activity carried on within another State; services... are usually supplied across state lines and even if rendered within the other state, are not part of a continuous activity. blissement
