OBS

The traditional type of hyperbaric chamber used for HBOT [hyperbaric oxygen therapy] is a hard shelled pressure vessel. Such chambers can be run at absolute pressures up to 600 kilopascals or 85 PSI(lbf/in²), nearly six atmospheres.

Après une heure dans une chambre à oxygène hyperbare, les niveaux d'isoprostane du groupe témoin sont montés à 22,3 pg/ml, alors que dans le groupe supplémenté en glisodine ils sont restés inchangés à 14 pg/ml. La glisodine semble ainsi protéger des lésions sur les membranes cellulaires qui se produisent au cours d'une exposition normale à de l'oxygène et dans un environnement de haute pression d'oxygène.
