The halocarbon GWPs are all normalized to a value of unity for CFC-11. An equally valid alternate set of values can be obtained by normalization to CFC-12 dividing all the GWP values by 3. 1(the average value for the GWP for CFC-12). The benefit gained by substitution of a CFC with an HCFC(or an HFC) is computed by rationing the GWP values of the HCFC(or HFC) to the CFC.
