In a similar manner as the LOC signal, the GS [glide slope] sends a UHF [ultra high frequency] carrier signal with the same two 90-Hz and 150-Hz sideband frequencies that aircraft instruments determine as above or below the desired glide path. The research team searched for evidence of plumes around the Deepwater Horizon riser pipe using a technique called a "tow-yo, "which oceanographers had perfected to search for plumes from hydrothermal vents of the seafloor. To tow-yo, researchers dangle a package of sensors into the ocean from a cable connected to a ship. The ship tows the cable horizontally while a winch alternately hoists the package up and lowers it down again like a yo-yo—in an effort to land the package within a plume. 2, record 46, English, - tow%2Dyo%20method

2, record 71, French, - rayon%20cr%C3%A9pusculaire

A statistical characteristic of the usual content of a substance in soils. 1, record 89, English, - usual%20background%20value

The variability of the natural pedo-geochemical content and of the usual content often increases with the size of the portion of the soil mantle investigated. So it is recommended to assess the natural pedo-geochemical value and the usual value at a spatial scale similar to those that it will be used for. For instance, if the natural pedo-geochemical value or the usual value is used to evaluate soil contamination at a local scale, i.e. agricultural plot, contaminated site, watershed, it is necessary to refer to the natural pedo-geochemical value or the usual value that has been determined at the same scale. 1, record 89, English, - usual%20background%20value

As presented here, the background contents are concentrations, e. g. mass of substance for a mass unit of soil. It can be useful to determine the stocks of substances in soil, as a mass of substance for a definite volume or area of soil. To this end, the bulk density of each soil horizon(or layer) and its thickness have to be taken into account. 1, record 89, English, - usual%20background%20value

Stable Spread Position. The first and most important prerequisite is that the jumper be able to see the ground. Hence the body should be in a face down attitude. This is achieved by a "spread eagle" position. In this position the head is thrown back, eyes kept lowered to the horizon, chest raised and arms fully spread. The back is arched and legs comfortably spread apart with bend in the knees. 2, record 100, English, - belly%2Dto%2Dearth
