A derrick crane with the top of the mast held by means of guy ropes.

CONT

The guy derrick is made up of a boom and a mast that are connected at the top by a cable which allows the boom to be raised or lowered. The mast, which is longer than the boom, is held firmly in a vertical position by guys, although the derrick, as a whole, may rotate through a horizontal angle of 360 degrees. The load is applied to the boom by means of another cable, which may be used to raise or lower the load without moving the boom in a vertical plane. This type [of derrick] is used in the erection of large, steel building frames.

The action lies beneath the strings, and uses gravity as its means of return to a state of rest.

Orthoceras was a Silurian orthocone cephalopod which was probably the ancestor to all other cephalopods.

To meet this requirement the Station's attitude must be controlled during orbit so that it maintains a constant position relative to the LVLH [Local Vertical/Local Horizontal] axes.

The quasi-steady state acceleration level is determined primarily by the combined effects of atmospheric drag (due to the finite residual Earth’s atmosphere at the orbital altitude of the ISS), and gravity gradient stabilisation of the ISS. It would be impossible to follow this flame pattern with a fixed sighting through the wind-box. Welding the tip guide(lens end) of this viewing head extension to the movable air compartment nozzle solves this problem. This viewing head extension can also be used for those applications where it is impossible to find a clear unobstructed view of the flame using a standard sight pipe. Here again the viewing head extension is mounted inside the furnace for a clear unobstructed view of the flame.
