HYDRODYNAMIC REGIME [3 records]

Record 1 2019-06-12

English

Subject field(s)
  • Transport of Water (Water Supply)
DEF

... a pipeline conveying water by gravity from a source of supply in a stream or body of water to an intake well.

CONT

An important place within water supply systems is represented by the adduction pipes. The flow in adductions can be characterized by free level under the pressure, or in certain situations in a mixed manner. The modification of design parameters and of the hydrodynamic regime in the adductions for water is developed in a continuous destructive process or variable in time. The multiple actions determine the modification of the constructive and functional parameters of the adduction, diminish the mechanic resistances, disturb the stability and decrease the safety in the construction exploitation.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Adduction d'eau (Alimentation en eau)
DEF

Record 2 2008-10-10

English

Subject field(s)
  • Geology
  • Hydrology and Hydrography
CONT

The sediment regime may be defined as the quantity, size, transport, sorting, and distribution of sediments. The sediment regime may be influenced by the proximity of sediment sources, the hydrologic regime, and valley, floodplain and stream morphology.

CONT

For large-scale projects, or projects that affect specific habitats, other information may prove necessary, such as bathymetry, granulometry, temperature, dissolved oxygen concentration, salinity, sedimentary regime, dynamics and circulation of currents, drainage, ice regime, areas sensitive to erosion, hydrodynamic and hydraulic conditions, human activities, etc.

OBS

sedimentary regime: term used at Natural Resources Canada - Earth Sciences Sector.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Géologie
  • Hydrologie et hydrographie
CONT

Record 3 2000-07-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Hydrology and Hydrography
CONT

The physical environment and the hydrodynamic regime of the dredging site also have a major impact on dispersal of sediment in the environment.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Hydrologie et hydrographie
CONT
