Laser anemometry is a technique for the measurement of velocity determined from the modulation of light scattered from particles, produced by their motion through an illuminated measurement volume. It is chiefly applied in hydrodynamics where fluid velocity is inferred from that of particles convected by the flow. 2, record 1, English, - laser%20anemometry

1, record 1, French, - an%C3%A9mom%C3%A9trie%20laser

The formulae are complicated and require skilled mathematicians, atmospheric scientists, and powerful computers for execution. Five regimes that influence climate are often taken into consideration : atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, and pedosphere. Atmospheric and environmental physical laws as well as principles of thermodynamics and hydrodynamics are all used as part of the extensive mathematical parameters for the program.

Marine biofilm : how quickly does it form? Immediately, when a surface is immersed in the sea, a conditioning film of organic molecules forms. This begins after a few seconds of immersion and is considered as molecular fouling. In the hours and days that follow, bacteria colonise the surface and micro colonies occur. These colonies spread outwards and upwards to form irregular structures. At this stage other microfouling appear, e. g. microalgae and fungi... The biofilm then matures and new species enter and grow, organic and inorganic debris is incorporated and solute gradients develop leading to a special heterogeneity. At this point three things can occur : The biofilm may slough off due the hydrodynamics of the environment; Organisms may begin to graze on the biofilm; Larger organisms such as algae and molluscs may establish on it, this is macrofouling. 4, record 5, English, - microfouling

In applying the principles of electrostrictive hydrodynamics(electrohydrodynamics) it is immediately clear to the aeronautical engineer that a large electrode area is required. Just as a sailboat uses a sail, any vehicle utilizing electrohydrodynamic propulsion must employ a large ballistic electrode to integrate the pressure of plasma "winds" to provide lift or forward thrust. These so-called "electric winds" are ion flows, moving at relatively high velocity. The flows may take various patterns determined by 1) The manner in which the flows are generated, and 2) The curvature of the surfaces which confine them. 1, record 6, English, - electrohydrodynamic%20propulsion
