Hydrogen drones utilize hydrogen fuel cells for power. Hydrogen must be free of other elements and stored under high pressure to be a viable power source. Hydrogen is then converted within the fuel cell by mixing it with oxygen, and the byproduct is then removed with water. This process affords better energy density in comparison to battery drones. As a result, hydrogen drones can stay airborne for hours. 1, record 3, English, - hydrogen%20drone

[A] thermonuclear bomb, also called hydrogen bomb, or H-bomb, [is a] weapon whose enormous explosive power results from an uncontrolled self-sustaining chain reaction in which isotopes of hydrogen combine under extremely high temperatures to form helium in a process known as nuclear fusion. The high temperatures that are required for the reaction are produced by the detonation of an atomic bomb. A thermonuclear bomb differs fundamentally from an atomic bomb in that it utilizes the energy released when two light atomic nuclei combine, or fuse, to form a heavier nucleus. 4, record 10, English, - hydrogen%20bomb

1, record 15, French, - stockage%20d%27%C3%A9nergie%20dans%20des%20volants%20d%27inertie

Triggered conformational changes... are the motions of groups of atoms(i. e. individual side-chains) or whole sections of a protein(i. e. loops of chain, domains of secondary and tertiary structure, or subunit), which occur as a response to a specific stimulus. The distance moved can be as much as 10 [angstrom unit] or more. The time scale can be estimated by studies of the rate of binding or turnover reactions. The energy for triggered conformational change comes from specific interactions, such as electrostatic attractions or hydrogen bonding interactions. The best-known example of a triggered conformational change is the transition in tertiary structure that occurs when ligands bind to the iron atoms of hemoglobin. 1, record 18, English, - triggered%20conformational%20change

Although heat is also a factor in the deterioration of asphalt on a roof, the real source of decay is the energy carried by the ultra-violet(UV) light of the sun, combined with the ready supply of oxygen in ozone. The "links" in asphalt molecular chains are hydrogen. The molecular bond is overcome by the strong attraction of the oxygen, which pulls the hydrogen away from the asphalt molecules. This process is called photo-oxidation, and these breaks in the "aliphatic" chain results in the shrinkage cracking common to asphalt. This phenomenon is commonly called "alligatoring" in roofing parlance, a term which describes the similarity of aged asphalt surfaces to an alligator's back. 3, record 22, English, - alligatoring

The shells are usually designated by number, though letter symbols have been used, i. e., K... Q. The laws of physics limit the number of electrons in the various shells as follows : 2 in the first(K), 8 in the second(L), 18 in the third(M), and 32 in the fourth(N). With the exception of hydrogen and helium, each shell contains two or more orbitals, each of which is capable of holding a maximum of 2 electrons. 3, record 23, English, - shell

The Earth is surrounded by a blanket of air, which we call the atmosphere. It reaches over 560 kilometers(348 miles) from the surface of the Earth, so we are only able to see what occurs fairly close to the ground.... Life on Earth is supported by the atmosphere, solar energy, and our planet's magnetic fields. The atmosphere absorbs the energy from the Sun, recycles water and other chemicals, and works with the electrical and magnetic forces to provide a moderate climate. The atmosphere also protects us from high-energy radiation and the frigid vacuum of space. The envelope of gas surrounding the Earth changes from the ground up. Four distinct layers have been identified using thermal characteristics(temperature changes), chemical composition, movement, and density [:] the troposphere..., the stratosphere..., the mesophere..., the thermosphere. The exosphere starts at the top to the thermosphere and continues until it merges with interplanetary gases, or space. In this region of the atmosphere, Hydrogen and Helium are the prime components and are only present at extremely low densities. 3, record 27, English, - Earth%27s%20atmosphere

Solar Thermal Propulsion(STP)... uses large area deployable concentrators to focus the Sun's energy on a small heat exchanger, called an absorber, which is cooled by hydrogen gas propellant. The absorber transfers the concentrated heat energy from the Sun to the hydrogen gas. As the gas is heated, it expands and is directed outward through a nozzle. This expanding gas provides enough thrust in the microgravity environment of low earth orbit to transfer the vehicle to a higher energy, geosynchronous orbit around the Earth where the satellite operates. 2, record 29, English, - solar%20thermal%20propulsion

The driving force in substitutions between primary energies is twofold. On one hand we have the economies of scale involved in the technology and distribution infrastructures of each energy source. On the other hand we have the fact that during the last 200 years, the fuel mix of the world's primary energy sources has evolved toward "lighter" forms, i. e., fuel forms richer in hydrogen. The hydrogen/carbon(H/C) ratio increased from wood(H/C=0. 1) to coal(H/C=1) to oil(H/C=2) to natural gas(H/C=4). 6, record 38, English, - hydrogen%2Fcarbon%20ratio

The method by which incident radiation interacts with the medium to cause ionization may be direct or indirect. Electromagnetic radiations (X rays and gamma photons) are indirectly ionizing; that is, they give up their energy in various interactions with cellular molecules, and the energy is then utilized to produce a fast-moving charged particle such as an electron. It is the electron that then secondarily may react with a target molecule. Charged particles, in contrast, strike the tissue or medium and directly react with target molecules, such as oxygen or water. These particulate radiations are directly ionizing radiations. 1, record 43, English, - gamma%20photon

... organic anions are released in the fermentation medium by fermenting bacteria. They are "transitory end products" because they act as electron sinks in biological energy conserving redox reactions. They have to be looked at as waste molecules, rich in reducing equivalents if these reactions are considered from the hydrogen transfer point of view. Typical examples of these organic "transitory end products" are lactate and volatile fatty acid anions such as propionate, n-and iso-butyrate, n-and iso-valerate. Because of this, the fermentation of soluble organic matter is classically referred to as "acidogenesis". It should, however, be strongly emphasized here that acidogenesis in a strict sense only means the release in the fermentation medium of organic acid anions! 1, record 50, English, - acidogenesis

3, record 50, French, - acidog%C3%A9n%C3%A8se

A well log of the wall-contact log type that measures radioactivity induced by neutron-neutron reactions. Fast neutrons of several MeV energy, emitted by a source in the sonde, may be slowed and backscattered as epithermal neutrons(0. 4 to 100 ev) by collisions with hydrogen nuclei. Epithermal-neutron abundance is interpreted by assuming a constant lithology, usually limestone, that produces a continuous curve in porosity units. The epithermal-neutron log is largely insensitive to the differences in chlorinity of formation water that may hamper the interpretation of the thermal-neutron log and neutron-gamma log. 2, record 54, English, - epithermal%2Dneutron%20log
