As funds have permitted, however, the Director has been assisted in developing The Canadian Art Database, by members of the CCCA Group, experienced artists and arts professionals who have been engaged under contract for varying periods over the past seven years. The CCCA has been further assisted by York University students in developing various sections of the project, and has contracted additional, specialized short-term personnel, as required, to meet specific production needs. 1, record 16, English, - Centre%20for%20Contemporary%20Canadian%20Art

A large city of Alberta, located on the Bow River, in the southern part of the province, at the meeting of the Canadian prairies and the Rocky Montains foothills. The city started as a trading post(fur trade, bison hunting and illicit-whisky trading) with the construction of a fort named Fort Calgary by the North-West Mounted Police at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers in 1876.(The word Calgary, of Gaelic origin, means "bay farm. ") "Fort Calgary" is linked to Canada by the railway in 1883; the Canadian Pacific Railway(CPR) Company laid out its town site where the city now lies. Incorporated under the name "Calgary" in 1884, the town received the city status in 1893. 2, record 24, French, - Calgary

The veneration of trees was a prominent theme in the Paganism of ancient and classical times. Many rituals took place in sacred groves and much of their symbolism involved the cosmic tree; its branches supported the heavens, its roots penetrated the underworld, and its trunk was the centre of the earth. The mysteries of the forest can be incorporated into modern Paganism. This gives a new perspective on the cycle of seasonal festivals. 1, record 26, English, - sacred%20grove

1, record 26, French, - bois%20sacr%C3%A9

The split axle type has the axle bent upwards and split in the centre to enable it to clear obstructions on the ground. This type is used on airplanes such as the Piper PA-22. It is suspended on shock cords wound around a fuselage member which enables the whole assembly to spread when the loads come on it. A strut or tie rod is usually incorporated to brace the structure against side loads. 1, record 28, English, - split%20axle%20landing%20gear
