Gyro de transfert. La grande problématique du navigateur était de décoller avec un cap vrai le plus précis possible pour se garantir une navigation sans trop d'histoires. Il avait été imaginé un conservateur de cap installé dans une Renault 4L qui stationnait près du bureau de piste. Avant chaque départ en mission la 4L était utilisée pour caler la centrale gyroscopique du Mirage IV au moyen du gyro de transfert prévu à cet effet dans son coffre. Cette solution assez contraignante a été abandonnée lorsqu'il est apparu que le calage manuel de la centrale, avion aligné sur l'axe de piste, était d'une précision suffisante.

... inertial platform control implies the continuous orientation of the gimbal system(cluster) to some predetermined reference frame, after an initial alignment. Platform heading can be maintained through signals to the gyroscope torquers originating in the navigation computer. For example, in a north-slaved platform, the gimbal cluster must be rotated in azimuth.

The conventional method for starting such a weld was to drill a pilot hole to serve as the initial keyhole, carefully align the welding torch over the pilot hole, adjust the standoff distance, and then turn on the torch at full power.... The new starting technique does not depend on precise manual alignment. The welding torch is positioned with no more than the usual care. As the torch begins to move along the weld, the welding current is gradually increased toward the full operating level, causing the depth of the weld to increase gradually until the keyhole is formed.... The standoff is controlled by the automatic-voltage-control portion of the welding equipment. At the end of a circumferential weld, the torch can continue a short distance past the starting point to overlap and thereby complete the weld in the starting transition region.

Détermination de l'assiette initiale. L'accéléromètre «x» est situé dans l'axe latéral et mesure les accélérations «droite gauche». This thesis presents a new approach for the initialization process(initial alignment and calibration) of strapdown Inertial Navigation Systems for air launched tactical missiles operating in an unaided inertial navigation mode... The initialization is treated as a training of Artificial Neural Network filter. A new methodology is developed which can handle, misalignment of Inertial Navigation System and scale factor, as well as bias errors of the measurement instruments used in Inertial Navigation System... It is shown that the optimization algorithm employed as well as Artificial Neural Network is quite suitable for Inertial Navigation System initialization. Prelaunch aircraft maneuvers measured by the Inertial Navigation System of the aircraft provide the necessary training data for the Neural Network for the missile navigation system that initializes the missile's inertial navigation system.

The alignment error signal whether it be manually inserted, stored information or magnetic information, is fed from the MAN/STORE/MAG switch, on the controller to the heading card in the EU [electronic unit]. During both rapid alignment and main alignment, an amber warning light, part of the auto align pushbutton, lights to warn the operator that either rapid or main align is in progress.

Boeing(and Airbus?) aircraft are not RNP certified without GPS. For initial departure operational phase, will need to assume TOGA update to runway threshold or quick inertial alignment just prior to takeoff.

Heading rapid alignment involves the operation of three distinct servo loops. The variation/grivation servo loop, the azimuth gimbal servo loop and the resultant positioning servo loop. The variation/grivation servo loop responds to magnetic heading information from the flux valve. The azimuth gimbal servo loop responds to the error signal from the azimuth synchro TX. In the resultant positioning servo loop, the other two loops are compared and the resultant error signal, if any, is used to position the azimuth gimbal.

If the principles of the metatarsophalangeal resection through a dorsal transverse incision were conserved, we progressively modified the initial procedure with renunciation to the plantar skin incision, preservation of a skin bridge between the medial and transverse dorsal approach, using centro medullary pins to hold in position toes alignment and making an arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal joint.
