The egg structure of sturgeon is complex... In the sturgeon, an adhesive layer in the follicular epithelium is responsible for the egg adhesiveness.

This layer is not self-supporting. Traditionally it is used to improve handling properties(M&M's melt in your mouth, not in your hand) or to prevent moisture loss... It can also be used as an adhesive to seasonings on snack foods..., as a glaze on baked goods... and to increase shelf life and reduce the need of packaging material. The shelf life is extended, because the film acts as a barrier to moisture and/or oil and/or vapor transmission. An edible coating has to have good eating properties : acceptable color, odor, taste, flavor and texture or be undetectable. Increasing the printing speed can be done by applying(printing) all colours on the fabric simultaneously which leads to a continuous process instead of a batchwise one. In that case the fabric to be printed moves over a distance equal to the width of the repeat(intermittent movement) between each printing operation. The repeat is that part of a design or pattern which is repeated on equal distances in length and width. The design or pattern is the whole set of figures which are printed on the material. The material to be printed is gummed to an(endless) printing blanket. This blanked can be easily stuck to and removed from the textile to be printed. Today it is possible to bond most the... materials with synthetic adhesives. The essential difference is not found in the formation of a sufficient adhesive strength to the adherends but in the properties of the adhesive layers formed by them under mechanical stress or long term influences.... The connection between the deformation properties of the adherends and the adhesive layers must be considered. For materials with a high deformation capacity under stress and/or different thermal expansion properties adhesives with flexible properties in the adhesive layer should be used and vice versa(within certain limits the thickness of the adhesive layer can be increased). 2, record 19, English, - adhesive%20layer
