LPI [6 records]

Record 1 2024-02-23

English

Subject field(s)
  • Surgery
  • The Eye
  • Lasers and Masers
CONT

This type of laser is used for the prevention or treatment of angle-closure glaucoma. In this condition, the iris blocks fluid drainage and thereby increases the inner eye pressure. LPI results in a small drainage hole within the iris that permits the drainage of fluid and thereby helps to lower the eye pressure.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chirurgie
  • Oeil
  • Masers et lasers
CONT

Pendant une iridectomie périphérique au laser, on pratique un petit trou dans l'iris pour permettre au liquide aqueux de mieux circuler.

Record 3 2018-07-06

English

Subject field(s)
  • Occupation Names (General)
  • Destructive and Non-destructive Tests (Mat.)
OBS

Dye penetrant inspection(DPI), also called liquid penetrate inspection(LPI) or penetrant testing(PT), is a widely applied and low-cost inspection method used to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials(metals, plastics, or ceramics). The penetrant may be applied to all non-ferrous materials and ferrous materials, although for ferrous components magnetic-particle inspection is often used instead for its subsurface detection capability.
