The Dix-Hallpike test is typically performed in a doctor's office. The doctor will ask you to sit upright on an exam table with your legs stretched out in front of you and your head turned to one side. They will then ask you to lower your head and torso back so that you end up lying with your head stretched off the edge of the exam table, turned with one ear down at a 45-degree angle. If there are misplaced calcium deposits(also called canaliths) in the posterior canal of your inner ear, this will trigger vertigo symptoms. 4, record 1, English, - Dix%2DHallpike%20manoeuver

A tilt table test is used to evaluate the cause of unexplained fainting(syncope).... For a tilt table test, you begin by lying flat on a table. Straps are put around your body to hold you in place. After about 15 minutes of lying flat, the table is quickly tilted to raise your body to a head-up position-simulating a change in position from lying down to standing up. The table will then remain upright for up to 45 minutes, while your heart rate and blood pressure are monitored. If you think about it, what's the most dangerous cell in your body? The most dangerous cell in your body is a cell that is replicating... So we believe now that every time you pick up the machinery to replicate a cell you also pick up this abort programme to potentially destroy it. So now the cell, in order to replicate and survive needs two completely different signals. One signal makes it replicate and dies, and the other signal tells it not to die. And the cell is, if you like, pinned on this double signal, and either one of them fades and the cell just destructs itself. There's an auto-destruct mechanism built into cells-and you just start again. It's far better to have a cell that destroys itself that one lying around as a rogue cell that could potentially become a tumor 1, record 13, English, - rogue%20cell

One who intentionally or unintentionally permits and encourages an alcoholic to drink or who covers up the drinking problem of the alcoholic by not following through with the consequences, e. g. lying to an employer by saying that the alcoholic is sick because of a cold and not because of alcoholism. 2, record 14, English, - enabler

It has been observed that family members and friends can also become involved in the disease [of excessive drinking] and of the ways this happens is by something called enabling (family members become enablers). 3, record 14, English, - enabler
Record number: 14, Textual support number: 1 OBS
It is to be noted that in the definition of "enabler", the connotation of "permission" can either be tacit or explicit; the French term "agent provocateur" can only render explicit permission, whereas "complice" would render implicit permission. The French term "facilitateur", which implies a positive form of help or support, would be inappropriate for cases of alcoholism, unless used facetiously or ironically. Related term: co-dependency. 2, record 14, English, - enabler

1, record 14, French, - agent%20provocateur
