CONT

Static Line. Automatic opening ... The jumps are done in OA. Your parachute is opened by a strap connected to the plane.

CONT

Due to extremely difficult conditions of operation of jumping(night, rarefied air, low temperatures, high weight and big size of the equipment, high drop speed due to the requirement of a short time of the aircraft presence in the drop zone), the AD-2000 parachute uses two reliable opening systems, one with a stabiliser and opening the main canopy with a ripcord or automatic device, and the other with automatic opening on the line.

DEF

Within aviation[, ] each part installed on an aircraft is defined by a part number and a serial number.... The main reason for identifying individual serial numbers within parts is to allow the tracking of flying hours/cycles accumulation on individual units for maintenance requirement purposes. As such[, ] the important metrics that are being tracked on individual components include [the] cycles since overhaul[, which are the] total amount of cycles accumulated on a serialized component after it was overhauled in a repair shop.

Subject field(s)
  • Pulp and Paper
CONT

In a low-yield(i. e., bleachable grade) chemical pulping operation, knots are generally defined as the fraction of pulp that is retained on a 3/8" perforated plate... The pressure screen knotter... consists of a totally enclosed cylindrical, perforated screen through which accepted stock flows. A rotating foil produces a series of pressure and vacuum pulses to keep the perforations clean. Knots are retained on the entrance side of the screen and are continuously discharged, along with some good fiber. The main drawback of the pressure knotter is the requirement for secondary screening of the reject stream to return good fiber back to the system.

Domaine(s)
  • Pâtes et papier
OBS

CONT

The local climate is one of the main things that influences how much water will need to be applied to maintain good plant growth. The plant water requirement includes the water lost by transpiration and evaporation.

CONT

Plant Water Requirement. The type of plants selected, their age and size, and how closely together they are planted all affect how much water is required to maintain a healthy landscape. Because rainfall is scarce in arid regions, it is best to select plants with low water requirements and control planting densities to reduce overall water need. Native plants are well-adapted to seasonal, short-lived water supplies, and most desert-adapted plants can tolerate drought, making them good choices for landscape planting.

CONT

Sub-occupation (Sub-O) ... is an occupation sub-grouping which may be developed when there is a requirement to employ a group of officers, with additional skills and knowledge, in a series of related jobs which form a significant part of the overall function of the occupation.

OBS

Sub-occupations are structures that exist within occupations, to reflect a work requirement that is over and above the main functional streams of the occupation. This work is not considered significant enough to warrant the training of all members of the occupation.

CONT

Fundamental research in wet pressing has shown that the most important requirement in press design is to provide the shortest path for the water to follow in escaping from the nip. The shortest distance is equal to the felt thickness(usually referred to as the vertical direction). Therefore, the main water flow should be perpendicular to the felt, and lateral flow should be minimized. Presses with dominant vertical flow have become known as transverse-flow presses.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Presses (Machines)
  • Machines à papier
CONT
