MAIN STORAGE BINS [4 records]

Record 1 2010-05-21

English

Subject field(s)
  • Grain Growing
  • Milling and Cereal Industries
CONT

The main storage bins are usually hoppered and an automatic conveying system moves the grain to intermediate storage bins from which different grades are blended into the milling grist. The main storage bins are arranged to feed back into the intake elevator to provide for turning over the grain from one bin to another. This turning over is sometimes necessary to keep the grain in sound condition. Provision is also made for drying grain. A separate conveying system is used to move grain through the automatic dryer and back to the dried-grain bins and the main storage block.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Culture des céréales
  • Minoterie et céréales
CONT

English

Subject field(s)

CONT

Immediately after the wheat is weighed, it passes over a receiving separator to remove trash from the grain.... However, the main objective at this point is to receive the grain at high capacity and convey it to the various bins. The main storage bins are usually hoppered and an automatic conveying system moves the grain to intermediate storage bins from which different grades are blended into the milling grist.

CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Concrete Preparation and Mixing
  • Air Pollution
CONT

Stone dust, fly ash, soot, and unburned droplets of fuel oil are the main types of particulate resulting from the operations of hot-mix asphalt paving plants. The predominant particulate emission is stone dust and its major source is the dryer. Other sources of particulate emissions include the screens, open bucket elevators, weigh hoppers, asphalt heaters, storage piles and bins, and traffic dust from the yard. Particulates from the dryer are normally termed "dryer dust", those from the screen cover, weigh and mix area, and hot material elevator are usually called "fugitive dust".
