Combined hybrid. Combined hybrid systems have features of both series and parallel hybrids. They incorporate power-split devices allowing for power paths from the engine to the wheels that can be either mechanical or electrical. The main principle behind this system is the decoupling of the power supplied by the engine... from the power demanded by the driver. 8, record 11, English, - series%2Dparallel%20hybrid%20vehicle

In a series hybrid-electric vehicle all energy supplied by the non-reversible source (combustion engine or fuel cell) is converted into electricity. The wheels are always driven by the electric motor ... In a parallel hybrid-electric vehicle most of the mechanical energy supplied by the combustion engine is transferred to the wheels by a mechanical transmission. In addition or alternatively ... the wheels are also driven by the electric motor ... Solid tires. Introduced in 1881 on the wheels of hansom cabs in London and formerly used for many types of road vehicles, solid tires disappeared from highways, mostly because of legislation that discouraged their use because they were hard on roads. Large sizes were supplanted by large pneumatic tires(truck and bus casings), but small solid tires came to be used extensively on industrial trucks and tractors. Some of these are made with metal base bands to which the rubber(and in some cases, rubbery polyurethane compositions) is firmly attached. These bands are the full width of the base of the tire and are often dovetailed to secure firm anchorage of a hard-rubber constituting the main portion of the tire. 1, record 14, English, - solid%20tire

Wheelbarrowing is a condition that arises when the nosewheel rather than the main gear is forced to support an abnormal share of the aircraft's weight. Touching down on the nosewheel, excessive braking, or friction between the wheels and runway caused by a side-skid may cause wheelbarrowing. Wheelbarrowing can damage a nosewheel or cause an aircraft to yaw uncontrollably off its intended course.. 2, record 15, English, - wheelbarrowing
Record number: 15, Textual support number: 1 OBS
During take-off, "wheelbarrowing" may occur at lower speeds than during landing due to the slipstream increasing the lifting effect of the horizontal stabilizer. The use of excessive forward elevator control pressure during take-off to hold the aircraft on the ground to speeds above normal take-off speed could, if a "yaw" force is introduced, result in serious wheelbarrowing. 3, record 15, English, - wheelbarrowing

Water is applied to crops by surface, subsurface, sprinkler, and drip irrigation. ... A sprinkler system consists of pipelines which carry water under pressure from a pump or elevated source to lateral lines along which sprinkler heads are spaced at appropriate intervals. Laterals are moved from one location to another by hand or tractor, or they are moved automatically. The system is based on a special landing gear called a jump strut, which works by giving the aircraft the proper attitude for take-off,.... First, the system extends the nose gear, raising the nose. A few milliseconds later, the main gear is activated(’jumps’) in its turn, increasing the distance between wheels and fuselage, while rotation continues. After a vertical leap of some 6ft, the aircraft slows and descends slightly because of the increased drag at the higher angle of attack. Finally, and virtually without a pause, the aircraft resumes its climb.... The jump strut is extended under pilot control by a nitrogen-charged actuator. Once fired, it is immediately vented to atmosphere to enable the gear to resume its normal shock-attenuating function should the take-off run have to be aborted. 1, record 26, English, - jump%20strut
