Northern Spy, Yellow Transparent, Delicious, and other upright growing varieties are sometimes difficult to train because almost every main limb tends to grow upright. A special practice sometimes used is to train these branches into outward-growing laterals by bending or tying them down. This is done by driving a staple into the trunk near the ground and tying a piece of heavy cord or binder twine(not wire) from the staple to the end of the limb, using a loose loop on the branch. 4, record 2, English, - tying%20down

3, record 2, French, - liage

An English invention, the Inverform was developed in the late 1950's to overcome the quality and speed limitations of the cylinder former in manufacturing multiply paperboards. Basically, this system consists of a fourdrinier wire upon which are located a number of secondary headboxes with top-wire formers.... The top liner is formed onto the fourdrinier wire in the usual manner, and subsequent plies are laid down between the main wire and the top wire formers. Dewatering takes place mainly upwards, thus avoiding the problems of water removal through an increasingly thick base web. 1, record 3, English, - Inverform%26trade%3B

2, record 3, French, - Inverform

HDSL(High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line), one of the earliest forms of DSL, is used for wideband digital transmission within a corporate site and between the telephone company and a customer. The main characteristic of HDSL is that it is symmetrical : an equal amount of bandwidth is available in both directions. HDSL can carry as much on a single wire of twisted-pair cable as can be carried on a T1 line. 3, record 5, English, - high%20bit%20rate%20digital%20subscriber%20line

The US Navy’s Fleet Satellite Communications System (FLTSATCOM) is a constellation of five operational satellites used by both the Navy and Air Force as well as the presidential command network. The system with a design life of five years, serves as a secure communications link between the three users. Each satellite has 23 communications channels, 10 of which are used by the Navy for communication between its land forces, ships and aircraft. The Air Force uses 12 of the channels as part of its satellite communications system for command and control of nuclear forces. One channel is reserved for US national command authorities. 2, record 8, English, - fleet%20satellite%20communications%20system

FLTSATCOM systems feature a main transmitting antenna that is 11 feet in diameter and surrounded by wire mesh screen. The body itself is hexagonal and is 8 inches wide and 4 feet tall. Two improved satellites recently joined four FLTSATCOM originals in orbit to extend the operation of the system well into the 1990s. The new systems carry an experimental extra-high-frequency package as a testbed for terminals being developed for the Milstar communications system. 2, record 8, English, - fleet%20satellite%20communications%20system

There are two main types of primary cleaners : indent cylinder machines and screen machines. Most indent cylinder machines are equipped with a scalper-aspirator which combines a rotating cylindrical wire mesh with an air stream which passes through the falling grain stream. The former removes large foreign material such as wood, large straws, etc. while the air stream removes dust, leaves and other light objects. Thus the grain is cleaned partially before it reaches the indent cylinders. 1, record 9, English, - indent%20cylinder%20machine

Surfacing is a term used to describe processes of depositing metal on surfaces of tools and machine parts in order to increase their dimensional sizes or to obtain some specific mechanical property.... The two main categories of surfacing are known as hardfacing and metallizing. Hardfacing is a fusion technique and includes processes which are designed to produce hard, tough overlays to resist severe abrasion, corrosion, and impact loads. Metallizing is a spray coating procedure where finely divided particles of metal are deposited on surfaces where metal has worn away or where it is necessary to build up certain contours. Hardfacing is actually a fusion weld process in which a special hardfacing rod, wire, or electrode is intermixed with the base metal. 1, record 13, English, - hardfacing
