The MCS system provides the primary tactical planning tool for the brigade. Supported by graphics decision support tools, including digital maps, aerial or satellite photos, dynamic 3D "flyover" view of the battlespace, and mobility analysis of the terrain, map overlays with intelligence and battle resources by unit. Commanders can quickly and clearly analyze different courses of action and take decisions based on thorough analysis of up-to-date situational assessment, various maneuver schemes, doctrine, and changes encountered during the course of action. Once detailed plan is determined, the MCS prepare and send warning operations orders, and related annexes. During the mission, the system provides automatic updates of friendly/enemy unit movement locations and battlefield geometry. As all information is maintained on the database, re-tasking of units is rapid and flexible. As an integrated part of the battle command systems, MCS receives information from external sources and updates those sources within predetermined operational plans. Such sources include intelligence, fire support, supply status and air operations requests. 2, record 3, English, - Maneuver%20Control%20System

Commanders should make every effort to avoid following the same routine during their convoys. Making routine halts in the same location on commonly used routes should be avoided. 1, record 5, French, - reconnaissance%20cartographique

The names ortho-amphibolite, para-amphibolite and meta-amphibolite may be found occasionally in the literature. The prefix ... ortho- was used for the following rocks: metamorphic rocks of igneous origin, rocks containing K-feldspar, SiO2-saturated rocks, sediments with defined contents of matrix, contents of carbon in coals, type of cumulates, etc. The use of the prefixes ortho- and para- is accepted by SCMR in the classical concept of Rosenbusch for metamorphic rocks derived from igneous and sedimentary parents respectively, but difficulties may exist in determining the nature of the protolith by directly observable features. 5, record 18, English, - orthoamphibolite

The border dispute between Eritrea and Ethiopia has been continuing ever since Eritrea became independent and the present Ethiopian government came to power. Bilateral attempts to settle the dispute by jointly demarcating the common border has been in process, but these attempts were frustrated when Ethiopia unilaterally issued a new map that included large tracts of Eritrean territory and intensified its incursions into these areas to forcibly incorporate them into its domaine. The dispute escalated into armed conflict when unprovoked Ethiopian forces attacked an Eritrean patrol unit deep inside Eritrean territory on May 6, 1998. 1, record 19, English, - Eritrea%2DEthiopia%20Conflict

Choropleth maps are divided into parts corresponding to the physical extents of the enumeration areas, here wards, and these parts are shaded according to the value of a variable for that area. One of the most common types of measurement to map using the choropleth technique is the density value. This gives an average value of the variable per unit area for each enumeration area. Magnetic bubble memory testers are used to examine bubble memory systems. Testers vary from unit to unit and in their ability to test memory devices of various capacities. Units can accommodate different memory architectures including serial, major/minor loop, block replicate, and even/odd configurations. They may offer capabilities for diagnostics testing(which isolates and defines design problems), device evaluation testing, and parallel functional testing. A computer may provide the central control and data collection functions for the magnetic bubble memory tester. The purpose of the loop status memory is to maintain a bit map of defective minor loops as they occur so that bubbles will be written into bad loops in later operations. This technique of maintaining minor loop status reduces test times. 1, record 26, English, - magnetic%20bubble%20memory%20tester

Linkage analysis category includes the oldest group of mapping methods. Pedigree analysis of two-factor and three-factor crosses is used to map the genes in terms of cross-over frequencies. The distance between genes is specified in terms of the map unit of centimorgan(cMo). Two genes are separated by a distance of n centimorgans(map units) if there is an n percent frequency of cross-overs between them. For short distances the cross-over frequency is equal to the recombination frequency, whereas for longer distances there are an appreciable number of multiple cross-overs, and the recombination frequency underestimates the map distance. 2, record 29, English, - map

The unit of map distance between linked genes. It is used to measure chromosome length and equals the total crossover frequency between the genes concerned. It is expressed in percentage. 1, record 32, English, - recombination%20unit
Record number: 32, Textual support number: 1 CONT
We have seen that the distance between "pro A" and "ade" on the E. coli chromosome is equivalent to about 45 percent recombination, so that these markers appear as only weakly linked in recombination analysis. In interrupted mating experiments, however, transfer of this same interval takes about two minutes, so that one time unit is equivalent to 20 recombination units. 1, record 32, English, - recombination%20unit
