The satellite record of solar irradiance spans only a few years and it is not yet known how representative these data are of longer time scale variations. Some ground-based observations of solar features do, however, show marked variations on the decadal to century time scale... We know that these solar parameters vary on the 10-to 100-year time scale. A statistically significant 200-year periodicity has been shown to exist in the atmospheric C-14 record over the past 8, 500 years.

The protection in women carrying risk factors for cardiovascular disease seems to be even greater. In women with a sustained myocardial infraction the relative risk may be as low as 0. 2. Observational data including data concerning oestrogen-progestogen combinations are few and more data are urgently needed, but results of published data do not suggest any marked attenuation by the addition of progestogen to oestrogen replacement therapy in cardioprotection. The results of coronary angiography and oestrogen replacement suggest a reduction of coronary stenosis most marked in those with severe stenosis.

A highway study of clear, tinted and photochronic prescription spectacles was conducted using a 58-mile driving course marked with 130 randomly spaced transverse white stripes.
