Flashings are used to make watertight any roof area where the roof membrane terminates, is interrupted, or intersects an area or projection having a marked change in slope or direction... Flashings are generally divided into two categories : base flashings and counterflashings. Base flashings are, in a sense, a continuation of the membrane, turned up onto a surface that is in a different plane from the field of the roof, and installed as a separate operation. They are usually fabricated using a nonmetallic material, such as an asphalt-coated felt. Counterflashings, or cap flashings, can be of metal, coated felt, or other materials. They shield and seal the exposed edges of the base flashing. The combined use of non-metallic materials for base flashings and metal for counterflashings brings out the best in each material. Bituminous base flashing materials have the same coefficient of expansion and contraction as the roof membrane, and they work together as a unit. They are the only type of material acceptable for use in constructing base flashings. 2, record 3, English, - bituminous%20base%20flashing

3, record 3, French, - solin%20de%20base%20bitumineux

Low-level radioactive waste (LLW) is composed of a variety of substances that are generated by a large number of processes. Due to this heterogenous mixture, there is no universally accepted classification scheme. The following is used in this report: - Low-Level Waste (LLW) - requires no shielding and does not generate significant heat. - Intermediate-Level Waste (ILW); High-Level Waste (HLW). 8, record 4, English, - low%2Dlevel%20waste

The Task Force's assessment of this problem led it to develop its own definition and classification system, based primarily on the specific activity and half-life of the materials involved. First, it defined low-level radioactive waste as being : all those radioactive wastes, other than spent fuel, arising from the mining, milling, refining or use of materials containing radionuclides. Second, it divided low-level wastes into four categories or classes... based on the concentration of radioactivity... of the waste material... 5, record 4, English, - low%2Dlevel%20waste

Factors influencing the filtration performance of geotextile can be classified into four categories-external conditions(hydraulic gradient and loading state) ;(bio) chemical conditions of fluent(pH, hardness(e. g. [Fe], [Mn], [Mg], [Ca]), redox potential(Eh) for iron ochre, BOD and COD of water(substrate type/concentration), osmotic pressure and dissolved oxygen) ;the properties of basement material(coefficient of uniformity(Cu), coefficient of gradation(Cc), plastic index(PI), double hydrometer ratio(DHR) for dispersive clay, particle shape and grain hardness for granular soil, compaction degree of soil and saturation degree) ;and the properties of geotextile(filtration opening size(FOS), apparent opening size(AOS), fiber density, textile bulk density(mass/area), porosity, thickness and fiber material)... screen test results clearly indicated that the height of self filtration is proportional to the constriction size(Dc) of granular filter used. Additionally, they suggested the filter opening size value should be within the range between d50 and d80 for linearly graded soil and within the flat range in gap graded soil. 2, record 5, English, - opening%20size
