The robot preferably comprises a plurality of navigation sensors providing signals for enabling the robot to navigate over the surface, and one or more detectors adapted to detect the presence of deposited material on the surface and provide signals indicative thereof. The navigation sensors may include one or more collision sensors and/or proximity sensors. The collision sensors may include one or more lateral displacement sensors arranged on a peripheral sensor ring to provide 360° collision detection, and/or one or more vertical displacement sensors. Utilising a generally circular shape together with a control regime which scans for the best direction of escape after the robot has become stuck(say in a corner) is especially advantageous. Furthermore, it may be additionally advantageous to detect the angle of any collision, in order to optimise the robots subsequent angle of movement away from the obstacle. 1, record 2, English, - collision%20sensor

1, record 2, French, - capteur%20de%20collision

Housewrap, to stick with the most common material used as the liquid water control layer, is a material that can control the flow of liquid water as well as air. It's rarely installed well enough to be a good air barrier, but that's OK because in most homes it's stapled to a material that usually is : plywood or OSB [oriented strandboard]. Housewrap is the material. Controlling liquid water and air are the functions. The standard varieties don’t control water vapor or heat. 2, record 25, English, - housewrap

Infrared Analyzers : Organic molecules, in general, contain interatomic valence bonds which exhibit characteristic resonance frequencies. These can be identified in the absorption spectrum of the material in gaseous form. Such information can be used to study the structure of complex molecules. In addition to research, infrared analyzers are used extensively for process quality control [e. g. in pollution control, in food technology]. 3, record 36, English, - infrared%20analyzer

Geomembrane: The term liner applies when a geomembrane is used as an interface or a surface revetment. The term barrier is usually reserved for the cases where the geomembrane is used inside an earth mass. Geomembrane is a generic term which has been proposed to replace many terms such as: synthetic membranes, polymeric membranes, plastic liners, flexible membrane liners, impermeable membranes and impervious sheets. These terms are not appropriate because: (i) synthetic, polymeric and plastic are too restrictive; (ii) geomembranes are not always used as liners; (iii) flexible membrane is redundant; and (iv) no material is absolutely impermeable or impervious. In addition, many users for these materials habitually designate them with trade names, which adds to the terminology confusion. Geomembranes should not be confused with other similar membranes used for such applications as single-ply roofing, floating covers and air supported roof. Also, geomembranes should not be confused with geotextiles [which are permeable by construction]. 2, record 62, English, - geomembrane

Stowage in a open rack location is carried out automatically by a rack servicing stacker. Retrieval is accomplished by entering the pallet number and unloading station for the desired material at the control console. By then pressing the "Start" button, the pallet is automatically extracted by the stacker, transported to the unloading station chosen and placed on the trestle. These automated sheet stock rack systems can be designed as dual-row layouts but also as a simpler design with a stationary stacker as well as single or dual-row towers. 1, record 69, English, - stationary%20stacker

Nuisance particulates is a term used by the ACGIH to describe airborne materials(solids and liquids) which have little harmful effect on the lungs and do not produce significant disease or harmful effects when exposures are kept under reasonable control. Nuisance particulates may also be called nuisance dusts. High levels of nuisance particulates in the air may reduce visibility and can get into the eyes, ears and nose. Removal of this material by washing or rubbing may cause irritation. 1, record 79, English, - nuisance%20dusts

Engineering controls help reduce exposure to potential hazards either by isolating the hazard or by removing it from the work environment. Engineering controls include mechanical ventilation and process enclosure. They are important because they are built into the work process. Engineering controls are usually preferred to other control measures such as the use of personal protective equipment. Substitution of a less hazardous material or industrial process is the best way to reduce a hazard and is often considered to be a type of engineering control. 2, record 92, English, - engineering%20control

2, record 92, French, - mesure%20d%27ing%C3%A9nierie

In December 1974, the independent National Liberation Directorate [NLD] was reorganized into the American Department(DA) under the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee. The DA centralized control over convert Cuban Activities for supporting national liberation movements and the efforts of regimes such as those of Nicaragua and Grenada. This DA was responsible for planning and coordinating Cuba's secret guerrilla and terrorist training camps, networks for the covert movement of personnel and material from Cuba, and a propaganda apparatus. 1, record 99, English, - America%20Department

The avoidant symptoms of posttraumatic stress, on the other hand, may serve to regulate or control the impact of intrusive cognitive-emotional memories by decreasing contact with posttraumatic triggers through dissociation of environmental stimuli and by reducing awareness of activated CERs [conditioned emotional responses]. This avoidance mechanism would be most important in instances when early childhood maltreatment had precluded the development of sufficient affect regulation capacities, such that "normal" reexperiencing of memory would exceed the survivor's ability to regulate painful material, producing extreme distress and, ironically, eliminating the disparity requirement by making the current environment painful and subjectively dangerous. 1, record 100, English, - avoidance%20mechanism

1, record 100, French, - m%C3%A9canisme%20d%27%C3%A9vitement
