Two developments that had an especially important impact [on music in the 1960s] were quotation music and minimal music. The former, which involved the use of earlier music as material for new compositions, represented an idea with a long tradition in Western music. Quotation had been a standard procedure during the medieval and Renaissance eras and it persisted in occasional use throughout the common-practice period.... Quotation music of the 1960s was set apart, then, not so much by how pervasive it was(though it was certainly that) but by the fact that the borrowed material consumed such a large portion of the musical structure that its "foreign" nature was emphasized to such a marked degree.... Not uncommonly, entire compositions were made up of quotations. 2, record 1, English, - quotation%20music

The Indian-meal moth has a wing-spread of about 2 centimetres. The forewings are creamy white next to the body, and have a reddish-brown colour with a coppery lustre on the outer two-thirds. The female moth lays about 200 eggs, either singly or in groups, on food material. The larvae are dirty white in colour, often with a greenish or pinkish tint. The newly hatched larvae are almost never seen because of their small size and the fact that they burrow as far as two metres into the grain mass. They normally remain in the grain until they have completed their larval growth. When fully grown they are about 1. 2 centimetres long. In summer their life cycle is about six weeks. 1, record 4, English, - indian%2Dmeal%20moth
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The Indian-meal moth is cosmopolitan in distribution, feeding on stored grain as well as nuts, dried fruits and packaged cereals. The principal damage caused to wheat is to the germ: a single larva may destroy the germ of approximately 50 kernels in completing its development. Degermed kernels reduce the grade and produce flour inferior in baking quality. 1, record 4, English, - indian%2Dmeal%20moth

2, record 4, French, - pyrale%20indienne%20de%20la%20farine
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
2, record 4, French, - pyrale%20indienne%20de%20la%20farine

SQE is made up of a passionate group of parents who understand the challenges and difficulties kids experience at school. Many of [their] own children faced such difficulties-learning to read, frustration with math, a lack of stimulating material, bullying, special needs, and so on. A great majority of these kids with similar problems today are seeking help through paid tutors, expensive home support, and private schools. Those who can’t afford such remedies end up falling through the cracks and unable to reach their potential. SQE cares deeply about these kids. In fact, SQE was founded by a teacher and is today one of the oldest and only charity in Canada dedicated to the improvement of childhood education. SQE supports teachers, parents, and above all, children. 4, record 5, English, - Society%20for%20Quality%20Education

SQE is one of Canada’s few charities that focuses on helping every child in the public school system reach his or her potential. The remedial resources [it offers] to teachers, parents and students have helped thousands of kids in [the] country succeed and thrive in their academics. SQE was founded by former school teacher, Malkin Dare, in 2002. The SQE believes that every child deserves a public education that helps them flourish and that every child can reach that goal with the proper guidance. SQE is dedicated to helping create an excellent school system in Canada. 5, record 5, English, - Society%20for%20Quality%20Education

Documentary Security and Classification Systems... The categorization of documents and material according to their apparent sensitivity is a basic, though slightly illogical, part of the security system. Theoretically, a document is either secret(in the common sense of the word) or it is not. Any further distinctions involve curious concepts such as partly secret documents that may be seen by partly reliable people. In fact, and in spite of a certain mystique that has grown up around the subject of classifications, the reasons for categorization are primarily economic. 2, record 15, English, - classification%20system

1, record 23, French, - autoprotection%20en%20%C3%A9nergie

Caldera formation. - A collapse is triggered by the emptying of the magma chamber beneath the volcano, usually as the result of a large volcanic eruption. If enough magma is erupted, the emptied chamber will not be able to support the weight of the volcanic edifice (the mountain) above. Fractures will form around the edge of the chamber, usually in a roughly circular shape. These ring fractures may in fact serve as volcanic vents. As the magma chamber empties, the center of the volcano within the ring fractures begins to collapse. The collapse may occur as the result of a single massive eruption, or it may occur in stages as the result of a series of eruptions. The total area that collapses may be hundreds or thousands of square kilometers. 2, record 29, English, - caldera%20formation

Calderas can become filled with pyroclastic material and even lava. In fact, it has been suggested that caldera formation is a regular process in the growth of basalt volcanoes, such as those in Hawaii. Commencing in 1974 and produced by the Education and Cultural Affairs Division of the National Museum of Man in conjunction with the relevant research divisions, the Museum Kits were multi-media, thematic, learning packages which were loaned free of charge for two-week intervals to schools community groups, libraries, etc. Each "museum in a box" included artifacts, specimens and related interpretive material such as films, maps, fact sheets, slides and resource books. There were two types of kits-a small kit with limited artifacts and resource materials, usually in separate language versions and the larger, bilingual, more complex kits, with resources inserted according to the requirements of the borrowers. The kits were designed for the 11-14 age group and were to promote an understanding and appreciation for Canada's multicultural heritage as well as the functions and importance of human history museums within Canada. The superluminal radio source in the gamma-ray blazar 3C 279... One of the greatest surprises provided by very-long baseline interferometry(VLBI) observations was the fact that some quasars, radiogalaxies, and BL Lacertae objects exhibit motion along their jets which works out to several times faster than light. Motion of material at such velocities is forbidden by relativity... but relativity also provides a way in which we can see such blobs appear to move faster than light(that is, superluminally).... they are bright because of Doppler boosting, and there also seems to be a connection between strong gamma-ray emission and superluminal radio structure. 2, record 40, English, - superluminal%20radio%20source

Every element absorbs X rays in a distinctive manner. At X-ray wavelengths between 23 and 44 angstroms, oxygen-and therefore water-is much more transparent to radiation than is organic material. This fact opens up the possibility of discerning features through water, which makes up about three quarters of the mass of most cells. G. Cotter Enterprises, Inc. has made tremendous advancements toward a finely tuned microwelding process. Microwelding originated with the mold makers needs in mind. [Since it is an] ultra sensitive method of welding, this skill is now applied to medical parts, electronic components, sensitive finished machined surfaces, polished surfaces, and any surfaces that would not lend themselves to conventional welding. The science behind microwelding is due to the tighter control of the arc in close spaces. The less heat added to the part, the least amount of distortion will result. Minimal sink(sink marks on the material surface due to melting into the base metal) is maintained through this process. Ultimately, precision microwelds lead to less rework, which in turn assist in lower cost for machining. In fact, many microwelds can be finished by hand. 1, record 44, English, - microwelding

Scrap is a fact of life in plastics processing plants. Runners and sprues, reject molded parts, and trim from film extrusion and thermoforming operations, represent significant amounts of material that must be dealt with by the manufacturer. Whether the scrap is to be disposed or reused, it is usually put through a size reduction process for easier handling. In the case of thermoplastics, scrap is easily reused by reducing its size to the point where it can be fed into processing equipment in the same manner as virgin resin. 5, record 49, English, - waste

1, record 55, French, - acier%20clair

Scaly clay, properly so called, is an extremely dislocated clayey mass in which it is impossible to recognize any dip or original structure and which has visibly undergone a slipping en masse of very great amplitude. Its slight mechanical resistance is moreover emphasized by the fact that it presently causes a very great number of surface slides on the sides of the valleys(...) whose material is scarcely more dislocated than the scaly clay itself. 1, record 58, English, - scaly%20clay

1, record 58, French, - argile%20scagliose
