SQE is made up of a passionate group of parents who understand the challenges and difficulties kids experience at school. Many of [their] own children faced such difficulties-learning to read, frustration with math, a lack of stimulating material, bullying, special needs, and so on. A great majority of these kids with similar problems today are seeking help through paid tutors, expensive home support, and private schools. Those who can’t afford such remedies end up falling through the cracks and unable to reach their potential. SQE cares deeply about these kids. In fact, SQE was founded by a teacher and is today one of the oldest and only charity in Canada dedicated to the improvement of childhood education. SQE supports teachers, parents, and above all, children. 4, record 7, English, - Society%20for%20Quality%20Education

SQE is one of Canada’s few charities that focuses on helping every child in the public school system reach his or her potential. The remedial resources [it offers] to teachers, parents and students have helped thousands of kids in [the] country succeed and thrive in their academics. SQE was founded by former school teacher, Malkin Dare, in 2002. The SQE believes that every child deserves a public education that helps them flourish and that every child can reach that goal with the proper guidance. With the information gained from the EMC model we began to look for other viruses that might induce diabetes in mice, particularly those viruses that also infect human beings. One likely candidate was the Coxsackie family of viruses... these viruses have RNA as their genetic material. They can cause upper-respiratory distress and muscle pain and can infect the heart and brain. Soon after the discovery of the Coxsackie viruses Gilbert Dalldorf... and A. M. Pappenheimer... found that infection of mice with members of the virus group designated Coxsackie B caused severe destruction of the acinar cells in the pancreas but spared the adjoining islet of Langerhans. 3, record 11, English, - Coxsackie%20B%20virus

1, record 11, French, - virus%20Coxsackie%20B

The Thixoforming Group in the Department of Engineering Materials at the University of Sheffield undertakes research and development into the forming of alloys and composites in the semi-solid state(SSM). This process is commonly called thixoforming(thixocasting or thixoforging) and possesses some of the advantages of both casting and forging. Initially the material behaves in the semi-solid condition like a solid(it can be picked up and holds it shape unsupported), but when injected into a die it flows like a liquid to take the form of the die accurately, as in die-casting. However, the structure is fine and uniform, virtually free of porosity, and the product may be heat-treated to give mechanical properties superior to those of castings. The thermal shock to the die is less than that given by a liquid, which means that higher melting point alloys-which cannot easily be diecast-may nevertheless be thixocast. 1, record 18, English, - thixoforming

Nondestructive testing(NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage. Because NDT does not permanently alter the article being inspected, it is a highly-valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research. Common NDT methods include ultrasonic, magnetic-particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic, and eddy-current testing. NDT is a commonly-used tool in forensic engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, systems engineering, medicine, and art. 5, record 24, English, - nondestructive%20testing

4, record 39, French, - cariste

Commencing in 1974 and produced by the Education and Cultural Affairs Division of the National Museum of Man in conjunction with the relevant research divisions, the Museum Kits were multi-media, thematic, learning packages which were loaned free of charge for two-week intervals to schools community groups, libraries, etc. Each "museum in a box" included artifacts, specimens and related interpretive material such as films, maps, fact sheets, slides and resource books. There were two types of kits-a small kit with limited artifacts and resource materials, usually in separate language versions and the larger, bilingual, more complex kits, with resources inserted according to the requirements of the borrowers. The kits were designed for the 11-14 age group and were to promote an understanding and appreciation for Canada's multicultural heritage as well as the functions and importance of human history museums within Canada. Catalogues of available kits were produced and circulated through the National Programs Division. They have been discontinued. 1, record 44, English, - museum%20in%20a%20box

Des catalogues des trousses disponibles étaient produits et diffusés par la Division des programs nationaux. dry standard cubic meters(dscm) : Concentration of contaminants in gases emitted from sources(such as cement kilns) are generally expressed as a weight of that material per a volume of gas. Emissions from sources often contain water vapor from evaporation of water in the processed material or as water from combustion of hydrocarbons. This amount varies from source to source and at variable temperatures from source to source. To make an emission rate meaningful for comparison to another source or to a permit limit, the emission rate must be stated as a weight per(dry) gas at standard conditions. Simply put, an array is an orderly arrangement of samples. An array experiment can make use of common assay systems such as microplates or standard blotting membranes, and can be created by hand or make use of robotics to deposit the sample. In general, arrays are described as macroarrays or microarrays, the difference being the size of the sample spots. Macroarrays contain sample spot sizes of about 300 microns or larger and can be easily imaged by existing gel and blot scanners, such as Storm, FluorImager, or Personal Densitometer. The sample spot sizes in microarrays are typically about 200 microns in diameter or smaller and these arrays usually contains thousands of spots. 3, record 69, English, - array
