Such indicators, which share the properties of the corresponding GNP deflator series for the overall economy, are best viewed in the present context as composite indicators of the cost(per unit of real value added) of all primary factors of production(including capital and "entrepreneurship", as well as labor). These indicators differ from final product prices in that they abstract from the costs of intermediate inputs obtained by the manufacturing sector from other sectors. The extrapolation beyond the most recent benchmark year is based on wholesale prices for manufactures adjusted to exclude the influence of changes in raw material prices.

Duplex stainless steels, consisting of approximately equal amounts of austenite and ferrite, often combine the best features of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. They generally have good mechanical properties, including high strength and ductility, and the corrosion resistance is often better than conventional austenitic grades. This has lead to a growing use of duplex stainless steels as a material in mechanically loaded constructions. However, detailed knowledge regarding its mechanical properties and deformation mechanisms are still lacking. In this project special emphasis has been placed on the residual stresses and their influence on mechanical behaviour of duplex stainless steels. Due to the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between the two phases, tensile microstresses are found in the austenitic phase and balancing compressive microstresses in the ferritic phase.

L'effet superélastique se traduit par l'induction de martensite sous contrainte, à une température telle que l'on se trouve en phase austénitique, entraînant une déformation du matériau pouvant aller jusqu'à 10 % pour des monocristaux. Au cours de la décharge, la martensite précédemment induite va se retransformer en austénite et l'échantillon retrouve sa forme initiale.

This depends on several parameters : stiffness of the goetextile, size of the soil particles and of the gaps between them, and normal stress applied on the geotextile. A kind of compaction produced by uneven settling of homogeneous earth material under the influence of gravity(as where thick sediments in depressions settle more rapidly than thinner sediments on hilltops) or by differing degrees of compactability of sediments(as where clay loses more interstitial water and comes to occupy less volume than sand).
