1. The "dispersion of indications" can be expressed quantitatively by the standard deviation or by the range of dispersion(spread) of the indications. 2. The concept envisaged is equally applicable to measuring instruments and to graduated material measures. It is to be noted that insofar as material measures, which only reproduce a single value(or several separate values) of a quantity, are concerned, it is not theoretically correct to speak of dispersion of their "indications", given that these represent fixed values. In this case, however, it is the dispersion of the value reproduced of the quantity which is of interest, a dispersion that can be found by means of comparisons with a standard. 3. It is necessary to indicate the conditions under which the series of measurements in question is carried out : if these measurements are to follow directly one after the other; if between each of them there must be a certain time interval; if they must be carried out by the same observer or by different observers, etc... 1, record 17, English, - dispersion%20of%20indications

Chromatography based on the specific chemical(covalent) reaction of the chromatographic material with only one of the components of a mixture. After removal of the other components by washing, the covalently bonded component is released by reaction with a suitable reagent. 1, record 25, French, - loi%20Achetez%20am%C3%A9ricain

The Canada Memorial commemorates an extraordinary co-operation between two nations in two world wars. The contribution made by Canada was generous and unconditional. It was accepted by Great Britain on the understanding that Canada's participation, with both personnel and material, implied no degree of imperial subordination but was offered from one sovereign nation to another in testimony of long association and mutual strategic interest. Canada joined in the war effort in the full knowledge that Britain's urgent need for her help derived from a threat that did not menace her immediately but posed nevertheless a moral challenge which the nature of Canadian nationhood demanded should be confronted and outfaced. There were no means, either in 1914 or 1939, by which Britain might have bound Canada to a war effort. It was precisely because Canada nevertheless declared a combatant alongside Great Britain that her brotherhood-in-arms was so deeply appreciated and is now commemorated in the Memorial which was unvieled on June 3 1994. 1, record 27, English, - Canada%20Memorial

Green Park, Londres.

[Roy Jackson. Princeton University. ] My main current interest is in developing equations of change that describe the motion of a granular material and the fluid that occupies its interstices, and using these equations in the solution of problems of practical importance, such as fluidized beds; standpipe flow and particle circulation systems; shear flows, chutes, and landslides; and transport of gas and particles in pipes. We have been successful in elucidating the structures that dominate the behavior of fluidized suspensions and in applying these insights to practical flows. 3, record 28, English, - fluidized%20suspension

1, record 28, French, - suspension%20fluidis%C3%A9e

The Commercial Float Zone Furnace(CFZF) is a materials science crystal growth facility developed jointly by the Canadian Space Agency(CSA) and the German Space Agency(DARA). This payload will be launched in the SPACEHAB module on the Space Shuttle mission STS-77 by the NASA Office of Space Access and Technology. Twelve materials science experiments using four sample materials will be conducted by scientists from the three partner countries during this mission. The CFZF is designed to allow production of larger samples of industrially important material. The pure samples that will be produced are of great interest to the electronics industry; these samples will be large enough to allow evaluation of the space-based processes and to suggest improvements to around-based processing. 3, record 39, English, - commercial%20float%20zone%20furnace

4, record 39, French, - four%20commercial%20%C3%A0%20zone%20flottante

In recent years, there has been increasing interest in glucose syrups due to the development of large scale processes for the enzymatic isomerization of glucose. Starch is now the cheapest and the most available material for the production of glucose; and this process, using soluble amyloglucosidase, has been studied well and has been used in industry for a long time in many countries. 1, record 44, English, - enzymatic%20isomerization

1, record 44, French, - isom%C3%A9risation%20enzymatique
