Eyestalk ablation is the most common procedure to induce gonadic maturation in commercial hatcheries of penaeid shrimp. In addition to reproduction, other physiological and metabolic processes are affected by removal of the X-organ sinus gland complex located in the eyestalk. In this study, the effect of unilateral and bilateral eyestalk ablation on the concentration of several hemolymph metabolites and phenoloxidase system in female and male shrimp was investigated. 2, record 1, English, - bilateral%20eyestalk%20ablation

The specific mechanism that maintains genetic variability among animals is bisexuality, meaning that a near universal genetic system of two sexes is present in each species, but with asexual reproduction or hermaphroditism playing a role in some species. In contrast, in plants, mechanisms maintaining genetic diversity are : dioecy(two sexes), monoecy(separate male and female flowers on the same plant), heterostyly(genetically different individuals in the same species with different style and stamen lengths that enable or require cross-pollination), gynodioecy(some plants only female, others with male and female flowers), dichogamy(different timing of maturation of anthers and stigmas of the same flower), and various incompatibility systems. 2, record 2, English, - dichogamy

The intestinal microbes are taxonomically complex and constitute an ecologically dynamic community(microbiota) that has long been believed to possess a strong impact on human physiology. Furthermore, they are heavily involved in the maturation and proliferation of human intestinal cells, helping to maintain their homeostasis and can be causative of various diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease and obesity... Through metagenomic analysis, it is now possible to comprehensively explore the genetic nature of the intestinal microbiome, the mutually interacting system comprising the host cells and the residing microbial community. 1, record 4, English, - human%20intestinal%20microbiome

The binding strength of antibodies to multivalent antigens, called avidity, is generally low in primary acute infections and increases in response to the maturation of the immune system. Measurement of avidity in serum dilutions is complicated and therefore, no avidity data are available in syphilis serology. By introduction of a solid phase elution method, avidity can be determined quickly using a sandwich ELISA for quantification of specific IgG antibodies with a lysate of treponema pallidum as antigen. 1, record 6, English, - avidity
