The clonal selection theory is based on the proposition that during development each lymphocyte becomes committed to react with a particular antigen before ever being exposed to it. A cell expresses this commitment in the form of surface receptor proteins that specifically fit the antigen. The binding of antigen to the receptors activates the cell, causing it both to multiply and mature. Thus a foreign antigen selectively stimulates those cells that bear complementary antigen-specific receptors and are thus already committed to respond to it. This is what makes immune responses antigen-specific. The term "clonal" in clonal selection derives from the postulate that the immune system is composed of millions of different families, or clones, of cells, each consisting of T or B lymphocytes descended from a common ancestor. Since each ancestral cell is already committed to make one particular antigen-specific receptor protein, all cells in a clone have the same antigen specificity. 1, record 3, English, - clonal%20selection

1, record 3, French, - s%C3%A9lection%20clonale

The life cycle of a thunderstorm cell can be divided into three stages which are determined by the magnitude and direction of the predominating vertical motions within the cell. These stages include(1) the cumulus stage,(2) the mature stage, and(3) the dissipation stage.... The mature stage is characterized by the existence of both updrafts and downdrafts in the lower half of the cell. The start of this stage is marked when the rain first falls distinctly out of the bottom of the cloud. It is during this stage that the most intense lightning occurs, the heaviest rains are recorded at the surface, and the strongest winds are observed. If present, hail will occur during this stage. 3, record 5, English, - mature%20stage

Oilfields, after a certain production period, are then called mature fields. Mature fields are those where the recovered oil fraction is close to the final recovery factor. Its mature phase is generally accompanied by an increasing production of water or gas, plus the aging of surface and subsurface equipment. To revitalize mature fields, a series of technologies is developed to increase the final recovery factor through treatments on a field(the so-called tertiary petroleum recovery) or well(stimulation, recompletion, treatments and logging) scale, in addition to optimizing the techniques relating to oil lift, its surface flow and treatment. 2, record 7, English, - mature%20field%20revitalization

Many mature gas fields also have a fairly significant production decline, especially when development drilling has come to an end. These mature fields can be revitalized in many ways. In some instances, efforts are focused on the reservoir with further drilling to drain potentially unswept hydrocarbons with infill wells or horizontal laterals. The horizontal drilling might be from new wellbores or wells that are currently temporarily abandoned or near their economic limit. With the increase in horizontal-well activity, there is an abundance of new technology with advances in gravel-pack design, underbalanced drilling with coiled tubing, and coiled-tubing fracturing. Besides these production improvements, operators are revamping both downhole and surface facilities to help breathe new life into older fields. Advances are taking place in the areas of artificial lift, intelligent-well completions, expandable tubulars, and others. 3, record 7, English, - mature%20field%20revitalization
