3, record 1, French, - arch%C3%A9ologie%20g%C3%A9n%C3%A9tique

Caution: the Spanish term "recorrido" is generic. In its most basic meaning the term denotes the path of a moving object (=trajectory, flight), whether it be a racquet, a ball or even a human body (= route, course). In some contexts, it is obvious that "recorrido" refers to the «swing» of a racquet as it comes in contact with the ball. In other cases, other more precise English equivalents - backswing, upswing, downswing, follow through, route - are recommended. Furthermore, in English one speaks of the "flight" or "trajectory" (=ES: vuelo, trayectoria o recorrido; FR: trajectoire) of the ball, the "path" (=ES: trayectoria; FR: élan) of the (racquet) swing, and the "path" or "route" (=ES: recorrido) of a person. 3, record 22, English, - backswing

Important nuance: a "stroke" implies early preparation and a complete follow through. If one were to envision a stroke, one would see a series of sequences, ending with a "shot", i.e. the result of all of the above. A "shot" is the result of the "stroke". "Shot" implies a quick, sharp movement because one is focusing on the end result, not the series of sequences leading up to it. One speaks of "classical strokes" rather than "classical shot". A "blow" on the other hand is rather a blunt, general term similar in meaning to "shot". Although many would like to maintain these nuances in English, "shot" and "stroke" can often be used synonymously. "Blow" is used only rarely. Note, however that although there are two possible equivalents ("coup" and "frappe") in French, neither are semantically identical to the English offerings. 5, record 23, English, - stroke

Biomass burning has only recently been recognized as a major source of important trace gases and aerosol particles. Through burning, the chemical elements in vegetation are cycled back to the atmosphere and to soils in chemical and physical forms and proportions which make biomass burning an important biogeochemical process. Before the advent of humans, fire was ignited naturally by lightning strikes in dry vegetated regions. Today, however, the process is driven almost exclusively by human activity which includes the burning of forested areas to facilitate land clearing, the burning of harvest debris to maintain cleared land, the extensive burning of natural grasslands and savannas to sustain nomadic agriculture, and the burning of biomass as fuel for cooking and heating. The importance of biomass burning is well recognized in International Global Atmospheric Chemistry and this activity, Biomass Burning Experiment : Impact on the Atmosphere and Biosphere(BIBEX), was established to address this phenomenon. It is being carried out by a multi-national science team at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Germany. 3, record 28, English, - Biomass%20Burning%20Experiment%3A%20Impact%20on%20the%20Atmosphere%20and%20Biosphere

1, record 34, French, - recherches%20par%20mesure%20de%20l%27intensit%C3%A9%20du%20signal

In 1916, Sir Max Aitken, Lord Beaverbrook, a Canadian who had settled in England, took it upon himself to form a committee that would oversee the creation of an official pictorial record of Canada's effort in the First World War, to be known as the Canadian War Memorials. A similar undertaking was initiated by H. O. McCurry, the director of the National Gallery of Canada from 1939 to 1955, to record the Canadian military presence in the Second World War, resulting in what would be known as the Canadian War Records Collection. A monumental building to house the two war collections, designed by the British architect E. A. Rickards, was also proposed, but the ambitious project was never realized. By 1950 the combined collections from the two wars numbered over 5, 000 works. The majority of them were transferred to the Canadian War Museum in 1971. 2, record 39, English, - Canadian%20War%20Records%20Collection

1, record 44, French, - %C3%A9conomie%20de%20course

In practical graphics applications, one starts with a set of vertices for the polygon in user's co-ordinates. For the seed filling algorithm to work, first the borders have to be drawn using the border colour(normally, using Bresenham), after which an internal point has to be identified and then the seed filling algorithm executed. Filling algorithms can be used to determine areas of closed polygons at the raster level in terms of pixel numbers. The polygon is filled with a unique colour and then the number of pixels are counted which have this colour value in the frame buffer, or more efficiently within the min/max box of the polygon. 1, record 51, English, - seed%20filling%20algorithm
