By the second half of the 1960s the attention of the international community was already focused on chemical and biological weapons... Most of the diplomatic work on chemical and biological weapons was conducted within the Eighteen Nations Disarmament Committee(ENDC), a body established in Geneva in 1961 with responsibility for conducting multilateral disarmament negotiations. The membership of this body was later enlarged several times, and its name was consequently changed, first to the Conference of the Committee on Disarmament(CCD), then to the Committee on Disarmament and, finally, to the Conference on Disarmament(CD).

In 1961, the Ten-Nation Committee on Disarmament, meeting at Geneva, became the Eighteen-Nation Disarmament Committee, and consideration of the test-ban issue was moved to that Committee in 1962.

Despite their rules differences, Canada and the United States were [admitted] to the ISRF in 1969. The Women’s International Squash Federation, founded in 1976, merged with the ISRF in 1985. Since 1992, the international organization has been known as the World Squash Federation (WSF).

The sport of Squash was first played over 100 years ago and is now enjoyed in over 153 nations(WSF members), on 125, 000 courts, with its popularity continuing to grow rapidly. To harness this growth and to promote and co-ordinate the sport, the International Squash Rackets Federation was formed in 1967, its name being changed in 1992 to the World Squash Federation. Rowing Canada Aviron(RCA) is a nonprofit organization recognized by the Government of Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in Canada. RCA was originally founded as "The Canadian Association of Amateur Oarsmen" in 1880 by the rowing clubs then in existence-to coordinate and regulate the sport of amateur rowing. In 1974 the name was changed to "The Canadian Amateur Rowing Association-Association Canadienne d’Aviron Amateur", which is still the legally constituted name, although Rowing Canada Aviron is now used as the operating name. RCA's mission is to provide and manage services and programs for the membership within a fully integrated rowing system model, which furnishes opportunities for every individual to reach his or her potential at all levels of participation.

The Conference is an independent group and has no formal affiliation with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the Commonwealth Secretariat or the Commonwealth Heads of Government. CSPOC operates on a two-year cycle, holding a conference of the full membership every two years, usually early in January, and a meeting of the Standing Committee at the same time the intervening year. Because we have a sister organization on the Quebec side of the region our committee works in English but welcomes women from any part of the region who wishes to attend and participate. Our ORWC strives to be inclusive and representative of the wider PSAC membership. Our mandate is straightforward – we provide a forum for identifying and addressing women's issues and concerns.

The Hugo Award, also known as the Science Fiction Achievement Award, is given annually by the World Science Fiction Society(WSFS). The distinguishing characteristics of the Hugo Award are that it is sponsored by WSFS, administered by the committee of the World Science Fiction Convention(Worldcon) held that year, and determined by nominations from and a popular vote of the membership of WSFS. In general, a Hugo Award given in a particular year is for work that appeared in the previous calendar year.

The WMO Eleventh World Meteorological Congress(May 1991) decided that a Co-ordinating Committee for the World Climate Programme(CCWCP) should be established to provide overall co-ordination between the four components of the World Climate Programme and effective communication and co-ordination with other related international climate activities; and that, in consultation with UNEP, UNESCO and its IOC, FAO and ICSU, and other relevant organizations. Following this decision, the WMO Executive Council at its forty-third session(May 1991) formulated the terms of reference and identified the membership of the Committee. Further the Secretary-General of WMO, in consultation with the Executive Heads of UNEP, UNESCO and its IOC, FAO and ICSU, finalized the establishment of the Committee and called the first session of the CCWCP on 4 and 5 May 1992.

Enfin, le Secrétaire-général de l'OMM, en consultation avec les directeurs du PNUE, de l'UNESCO (COI), de la FAO et du CIUS, ont mis la dernière main à la création du Comité et convoqué la première séance du CC-PCM les 4 et 5 mai 1992.

[The] Intersecretariat Committee on Scientific Programmes Relating to Oceanography(ICSPRO)... was established in 1969, independent of the ACC, for the purpose of enlisting and coordinating interagency support for the scientific programmes of the IOC, which was established in 1960. Its mandate and membership is thus more limited than that of the ACC Subcommittee, with a focus on marine scientific research and support services. ICSPRO now meets for one or two days in connection with annual sessions of the ACC Subcommittee and currently its work is focused primarily on developing and coordinating contributions of UN agencies to the 1998 International Year of the Ocean(an initiative of UNESCO and proclaimed in 1994 by the General Assembly) and to "Expo ’98" in Lisbon, an international event entitled "The Oceans : A Heritage for the Future. "Its work thus does not overlap that of the Subcommittee. The members of ICSPRO are the UN(DOALOS), UNESCO(IOC), IMO, WMO, FAO and UNEP.
