The protein Sonic Hedgehog (Shh) controls patterning growth during vertebrate development. Here we demonstrate that it binds Patched (vPtc), which has been identified as a tumour-suppressor protein in basal cell carcinoma, with high affinity. We show that Ptc can form a physical complex with w newly cloned vertebrate homologue of the Drosophila protein Smoothened (vSmo), and that vSmo is coexpressed with vPtc in many tissues but does not bind Shh directly. 4, record 3, English, - Smoothened
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Sequence analysis of the smoothened transcription reveals a single open reading frame encoding a protein with seven putative transmembrane domains. This structure is typical of G-protein-coupled receptors, suggesting that the Smoothened protein may act as a receptor for the Hegdgehog ligand. 5, record 3, English, - Smoothened

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT
for "acrosomal process" : Once the tip of the acrosomal process has interacted with the receptor site, it perforates the vitelline layer and fuses with the underlying plasma membrane of the egg. The plasma membranes of the two cells then become continuous, forming a bridge that progressively enlarges until the entire sperm is surrounded by the egg plasma membrane and is incorporated into the egg. 2, record 4, English, - acrosomal%20tubule

2, record 4, French, - tube%20acrosomial

Signal reception. Most signal receptors are plasma membrane proteins. The signal protein matches the shape of a specific site on the receptor protein. The signal protein acts as ligand, a small protein that specifically binds to large one. The binding of the signal protein causes a conformational change in the receptor protein, which in turn can now activate another molecule. Most signal proteins are water soluble and too large to pass through the plasma membrane. 2, record 7, English, - signal%20protein

Neurotransmitter receptors are proteins that span the neuronal membrane. These proteins have ligand binding regions that are accessible to extracellular messengers and other regions involved in transducing the binding interaction into an intercellular effect. The reversible binding of the neurotransmitter to the receptor causes a conformational change that triggers the transmembrane signaling event. 1, record 9, English, - binding

Elle agit sur la prise alimentaire à la fois grâce à ses propriétés anorexigènes, et/ou en augmentant la dépense énergétique.
