Forward osmosis is a separation process that uses the osmotic pressure difference between feed solution(FS) and draw solution(DS) on both sides of the forward osmosis membrane as the driving force without external pressure to make water flow spontaneously from the feed solution(low osmotic pressure) to the drawn solution(high osmotic pressure)... 5, record 1, English, - forward%20osmosis
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Forward osmosis can correctly be called simply "osmosis." However, in an industrial water treatment context, it is normally referred to as forward osmosis to distinguish it from reverse osmosis, another method for membrane-based water treatment commonly used for industrial effluent processing using hydraulic pressure as [a] driving force. 6, record 1, English, - forward%20osmosis

1, record 1, French, - osmose%20directe

FO [Forward osmosis] works on the principle of water separation using the osmotic pressure difference between a draw and [a] feed solution. The draw solution is more concentrated than the feed solution, which causes water to diffuse from the feed to the draw solution through the FO membrane. During this process, the feed solution gets concentrated while the draw solution gets diluted. 3, record 2, English, - draw%20solution

Membrane distillation(MD) is a thermally-driven separation process, in which only vapour molecules transfer through a microporous hydrophobic membrane. The driving force in the MD process is the vapour pressure difference induced by the temperature difference across the hydrophobic membrane. This process has various applications, such as desalination, wastewater treatment and in the food industry. 3, record 4, English, - membrane%20distillation

3, record 4, French, - distillation%20membranaire

Membrane distillation(MD) is a separation process where a micro-porous hydrophobic membrane separates two aqueous solutions at different temperatures.... The manner in which the vapour pressure difference is generated across the membrane is determined by the specific module configuration. In the most commonly used configuration, direct contact membrane distillation(DCMD), the permeate-side consists of a condensation liquid(often clean water) that is in direct contact with the membrane. 2, record 5, English, - direct%20contact%20membrane%20distillation

2, record 5, French, - distillation%20membranaire%20%C3%A0%20contact%20direct

Abstract of the disclosure. Membrane separation under perstraction conditions of a lube oil distillate is disclosed which produces a retentate rich in non-aromatics hydrocarbons and alkyl aromatic and a permeate rich in multi-ring aromatics. The recovered retentate is similar to a solvent extracted raffinate but possesses a higher concentration of alkyl-single ring aromatics. The membrane separation process is highly selective for removing multi-ring aromatics from the lube distillate. 1, record 7, English, - perstraction
