Immobilization method for enzymes characterized by the binding of enzymes to water-insoluble carriers.

In the carrier-binding mehtod ... care is required regarding the selection of carriers as well as in binding techniques. Namely, the amount of enzyme bound to the carrier and the activity after immobilization depend markedly on the nature of the carrier. Although the selection of a carrier also depends on the nature of the enzyme itself, the following aspects must be considered; (1) particle size, (2) surface area, (3) molar ratio of hydrophilic to hydrophobic groups, and (4) chemical composition.

Attachment of an enzyme to an insoluble carrier is the oldest... and most prevalent method for enzyme immobilization... The artificial immobilization of enzymes can be subclassified according to the binding mode of the enzyme into : physical adsorption, ionic binding, chelation or metal binding, and covalent binding. In any of these methods the selection of the insoluble carrier as well as the binding method is of paramount importance.

From the printer the cans are transferred to a "pin chain" to carry the can through the dry/cure and cool oven system. A cavesson resembles a heavy, well fitting halter and is the preferred headpiece for longeing (lungeing) English horses. "Breaking" cavessons are generally made of stout leather with heavy metal nosepieces and have straps to fasten them securely and keep them in position because during "breaking" it is often necessary to tug or pull quite hard on the line to control the horse. Lighter, simpler cavessons are also available for the very young horse, the already-trained horse, for use with a bit or bridle, and for use as a dropped noseband.

The traditional cavesson is made from leather but nylon cavessons are also available. A longeing(lungeing) cavesson has a padded noseband with a jointed metal nosepiece that usually has 3 swivel-mounted rings attached to it. Generally the middle ring is used for longeing(lungeing) unless a horse carries his head to the outside of the circle extremely. In that case, the inside cavesson ring can be used to bend the horse inward on the longeing(lungeing) circle. The side rings are also used for side rein attachment or long line attachment.
