Substantially all metal can bodies used in the food and beverage industry are flanged at the end portion of the cylindrical can body in preparation for seaming an end closure panel to the can body. Common techniques for flanging container body ends include die flanging and roll flanging. Die flanging requires that the container body be forced over a single large flanging die that simultaneously flanges the entire circumference of the container edge. 3, record 1, English, - die%20flanging

The roll-on closure is used in the food, carbonated beverage, and pharmaceutical markets where pressure sealing is required ... A widely used version today is the tamper-evident roll-on [closure]. A tear band perforated along the bottom of the closure skirt is tucked under a locking ring during capping by a special roller. When opened by the consumer, the band separates from the closure to provide visible evidence of tampering. 4, record 3, English, - roll%2Don%20pilferproof%20closure

Tamper-Evident Closures. Tamper-evident caps have been in use for years, though earlier they were referred to as "pilferproof caps". Today these metal and plastic caps provide visible evidence of seal disruption and are used for over-the-counter(OTC) drugs, beverages, and food products. The two kinds of TE closures are "breakaway" or "tear band" closures used for pressurized and general sealing applications, and TE vacuum designs for vacuum sealing applications. The closure user can also fulfill tamper-evident requirements through the use of innerseals.... 1, record 15, English, - tamper%2Devident%20closure

Common industry usage substitutes the term "tamper-evident" for the term "tamper-resistant" .... The FDA has not objected to this substitution, nor has it made any official recognition of it as a synonymous term ... [It] seems likely that use of both terms will continue for some time. All the practitioners and the FDA are agreed that the term "tamper-proof" is not appropriate and must not be used. 1, record 15, English, - tamper%2Devident%20closure
