Anodic stripping voltammetry is a method to demonstrate the presence of multiple metals in water. This method is usually applied to investigate the water quality of surface or drinking water or sewage. 3, record 1, English, - anodic%20stripping%20voltammetry
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Anodic stripping voltammetry(ASV) is the most common of a class of techniques known as stripping electroanalytical methods(SEAM). The defining characteristic of these methods is the preconcentration of analyte at the electrode surface in order to lower the detection limit for that analyte.... Usually a mercury drop or mercury thin-film electrode is employed under forced convective conditions(stirred solution). The preconcentration step is followed by a short time period in which the solution is allowed to quiet(no stirring), following which a potential scan is initiated from the deposition potential in the anodic direction. ASV is well-suited for the determination of trace amounts of many metal contaminants. “Stripping” refers to the characteristic sharp voltammetric waves that occur for metals as they are oxidized out of mercury, in which many metals form amalgams. 2, record 1, English, - anodic%20stripping%20voltammetry

Pollution Prevention Opportunity Evaluation. Waste-generating Process: Metal Finishing - Surface Preparation. Opportunity: Reduce Rinsewater Use; Use of Rinsewater as Chemical Solution Make-up. ... The use water for rinsing can be reduced by several methods: ... A still rinse tank, also known as "dead rinse," "stagnant rinse," and "recovery rinse," can be used ahead of flowing rinses to concentrate the drag out in one tank and to reduce the amount of chemicals discharged to the sewer. Installing an electrowinning unit on a stagnant rinse tank after a dragout recovery tank is the most common and costeffective application of electrowinning. To maintain a steady-state metal concentration in the stagnant rinse at or below the maximum contaminant concentration, the rate of metal deposition onto the electrowinning cathodes must be greater than or equal to the rate of dragin from the preceding tank. Thus, the metal deposition rate is an essential design parameter that ultimately affects the capacity, size and cost of the electrowinning unit.... Because metal and cyanide concentration in the stagnant rinse are lowered, subsequent rinses will be cleaner, allowing the flow rates in these rinses to be reduced or turned off. In many cases, rinse water flow is reduced to a rate equal to the evaporation rate from the stagnant rinse. 3, record 9, English, - stagnant%20rinse

Sediment-hosted stratiform copper(SSC) or "diagenetic sedimentary" copper deposits belong to a large family of diverse, more or less concordant and discordant copper deposits and occurrences that show a close relationship to their sedimentary host rocks. In this sense they are "sedimentary", even though available evidence supports diagenetic precipitation of metals at redox boundaries rather than syngenetic metal deposition. Nomenclature for deposits of this type is problematic and no general term referring to them is entirely satisfactory.... ... many workers favour the idea of metal transport in chloride complexes. ... Barnes & Czamanske (1967) have argued with reference to ZnS that bisulphide complexing is important and chloride complexing relatively insignificant. Helgeson (1964) contended that chloride complexing increases sphalerite solubility in chloride solutions when sulphur is low, whereas Barnes (1976b) has proposed that transportation as chloride complexes requires a solution to be virtually sulphur-free. 1, record 22, English, - chloride%20complexing

Zoning... cannot be used to distinguish between the products of these two types of solution, because chloride complexing up to at least 100°C is not sufficiently strong to change significantly the normal order of precipitation of sulphides from that found for simple metallic ions. It does not appear... that the nature of the zoning in hydrothermal deposits points to deposition from sulphide complexes, and that chloride complexes or ionic solutions may play a significant role as metal transporting agents in the formation of sedimentary sulphide deposits. 1, record 22, English, - chloride%20complexing

Hughes Aircraft is under contract to the US Air Force to demonstrate for use in manufacturing a new process that coats microelectronic devices with a silicon nitride insulating film, offering several key advantages over previous insulating techniques. Microcircuits are prepared for a reactor chamber designed for the photo-chemical vapour deposition(Photo-CVD) process. Developed by Hughes with company funds, Photo-CVD offers the potential of eliminating wire bond corrosion, device degradation due to leaky standard metal or ceramic hermetic packages, and failure due to loose conductive particles. According to the company, it is not destructive because it does not generate the ionized particles and broadband electromatic radiation encountered in Plasma-CVD and physical sputtering processes. 1, record 27, English, - photochemical%20vapour%20deposition

1, record 27, French, - d%C3%A9position%20de%20vapeur%20photochimique
