L'observation météorologique se base sur de nombreux réseaux : Le réseau synoptique. Le réseau synoptique national est composé de 41 stations effectuant : la mesure de tous les paramètres utilisés comme Input des modèles de prévision numérique (Pression atmosphérique, Température, Humidité, Vent). The Integrated Global Ocean Services System(IGOSS) is the international SYSTEM for the collection and exchange of ocean data(such as temperature and salinity) and the preparation and dissemination of oceanic products and services. Le SMISO, créé conjointement par l'OMM et la COI en 1968, est le premier système opérationnel d'observation de l'océan. Il a pour objectif de fournir la cueillette en temps réel, l'échange et le traitement des observations d'océanographie physique des couches superficielles de l'océan à partir de diverses plates-formes d'acquisition de données, dont des navires de recherche et des bouées. The Next Generation Weather Radar system(NEXRAD) comprises approximately 160 Weather Surveillance Radar-1988 Doppler(WSR-88D) sites throughout the United States and selected overseas locations. This system is a joint effort of the United States Departments of Commerce(DOC), Defense(DOD), and Transportation(DOT). The controlling agencies are the National Weather Service(NWS), Air Weather Service(AWS) and Federal Aviation Administration(FAA), respectively. Level II data are the three meteorological base data quantities : reflectivity, mean radial velocity, and spectrum width. From these quantities, computer processing generates numerous meteorological analysis products known as Level III data. Level II data are recorded at all NWS and most AWS and FAA WSR-88D sites. Level III products are recorded at the 120 NWS sites.
