MICRO LEVEL [6 records]

Record 1 2018-05-29

English

Subject field(s)
  • Occupation Names (General)
  • Oceanography
CONT

The responsibility of an ocean engineer is quite panoptic and among all the engineering sciences prevalent in today's times, the toughest and the most difficult one. To put it simply, ocean engineering extends from building dams and reservoirs in a micro level to planning, designing and executing structures, equipments and constructions that benefit not just humans but also the existence of marine life-forms at its zenith.

Subject field(s)
  • Work Study
  • Job Descriptions
CONT

Analysing Organisations I covers a range of organisational issues, focusing primarily on the micro organisational level. The topics covered include motivation, control and work design; group dynamics; leadership; decision-making; conflict and power; organisational learning; and current issues.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Étude du travail
  • Descriptions d'emplois

Record 3 2007-04-19

English

Subject field(s)
  • Acoustics (Physics)
  • Audio Technology
  • Noise Pollution
  • Air Transport
DEF

Value equal to 20 times the logarithm of the ratio of the pressure of the sound to the reference pressure.

CONT

The sound pressure level of a sound, in decibels, is equal to 20 times the logarithm to the base 10 of the ratio of the RMS sound pressure to the reference sound pressure.

OBS

20 uPa [micro Pascal] at 1 KHz is the weakest sound level a person with normal hearing can hear. Sound pressure at 20. 000 uPa is equivalent to 60 dBSPL, which is where you hear normal speech.

Domaine(s)
  • Acoustique (Physique)
  • Électroacoustique
  • Pollution par le bruit
  • Transport aérien
CONT

Record 4 2001-07-04

English

Subject field(s)
  • Spacecraft
CONT

Inside an orbiting spacecraft a "microgravity" environment exists in which the acceleration of objects and persons relative to their surroundings is reduced to the level of micro g's...

OBS

Even in a gravity gradient attitude, accelerations caused by crew movements, equipment operations, and occasional thruster firings can disrupt the quiescent low-gravity environment and may affect microgravity science experiments. Accelerations at particular frequencies may interrupt one type of experiment but have no effect on others. These accelerations are measured at fractions of Earth’s gravity; for instance, 10~ g is equal to 1/100,000 of the gravity on Earth.

OBS

microgravity environment: term officially approved by the International Space Station official approval Group (ISSOAG).

PHR

Vibratory microgravity environment.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Engins spatiaux
CONT
