Basis and starting point of the R&D activities of the division have been and still are the tasks of the life sciences branch of the German Centre for support of research under space conditions MUSC(Microgravity User Support Centre). MUSC set-up started in 1986 and which at the moment is in preparation for the implementation of facilities and experiments on the International Space Station(ISS).
