Membrane distillation(MD) is a thermally-driven separation process, in which only vapour molecules transfer through a microporous hydrophobic membrane. The driving force in the MD process is the vapour pressure difference induced by the temperature difference across the hydrophobic membrane. This process has various applications, such as desalination, wastewater treatment and in the food industry. 3, record 1, English, - membrane%20distillation

3, record 1, French, - distillation%20membranaire

Barrier textiles, such as poly-reinforced or microporous membrane reinforced gowns and drapes, are necessary in cases of high risk of contamination by infectious or toxic materials. The protection from the infectious or toxic substances in barrier fabrics is primarily bases on physical properties of the fabric, which do not permit passage of fine particulate matter or liquids through them. However, barrier materials may also be capable or removing a viable infectious agent(e. g. virus) from a suspension by binding the agent particles or by inactivating them. 1, record 3, English, - barrier%20textile

Weather protection fabrics are usually coated or laminated on just one side(either inside or outside) with a microporous coating or membrane. The coating blocks water from penetrating through its microscopic pores, but allows easy passage of sweat vapors. It's an effective system. But Entrant SC goes it one(layer) better. This garment's new Entrant SC is coated on the inside with a microporous material and also covered on the outside by a revolutionary new, ultra-thin coating that shed water better than any known system. By keeping the honeycomb pores or the inner coating from cogging with water, the breathability of the total fabric system is improved dramatically. 1, record 4, English, - Entrant%20SC

1, record 4, French, - Entrant%20SC

Microporous nonfibrous filter membrane... in the pores of which... an enzyme capable of bringing about a specific chemical alteration in a substrate has been crosslinked by means of a bifunctional coupling agent.... Enzyme membranes of this process are prepared by first impregnating the membrane pores with a suitable enzyme. This can be done either by forcing an enzyme solution through the pores of the membrane or by immersing the membrane in the enzyme solution for 3 to 10 hours, thereby allowing the enzyme molecules to diffuse into the pores of the membrane. The enzyme-loaded membrane is then immersed into a solution of a bifunctional crosslinking agent to effect the crosslinking of the enzyme in the membrane pores. 1, record 5, English, - crosslinked%20enzyme%20membrane
