Retroviruses, virion morphology and morphogenesis. The first classification of oncoviruses after their species of origin was based on variations in the electron microscopic appearance of the viral particles associated with different viruses. Four major types of oncovirus particles A to D, are recognized, and the viruses are subdivided by type in accord with their particle morphology. The vast majority of these viruses(such as RSV, MuLV, and HTLV) have C-type morphology. MMTV is a prototype virus that makes B-type particles. These particles develop their inner core in the cytoplasm and acquire their envelope as they bud from the plasma membrane. The mature ones, which measure about 125 nm, contain an eccentrically located electron-dense core. 2, record 1, English, - B%2Dtype%20particle

2, record 1, French, - particule%20B

The vast majority of these viruses(such as RSV, MuLV, and HTLV) have C-type morphology. Several primate viruses have been classified as type D; their morphological development is similar to that of B-type particles in that their inner core is assembled in the cytoplasm. However, the mature(budded) D-type particles resemble C-type particles more closely; they are also more closely related genetically to the C-type viruses. 2, record 2, English, - D%2Dtype%20particle

Aggregation of microscopic particles diffusing in a fluid medium represents a common process leading to fractal structures. If the density of the initially randomly distributed particles is larger than zero, the probability for two "sticky" particles to collide and stick together is finite. It is typical for such systems that the resulting two-particle aggregate can diffuse further and may form larger fractal clusters by joining other aggregates. In the above process each cluster is equivalent with regard to the conditions for their motion, i. e., there is no seed particle as in the case of DLA. Consequently, this process is called cluster-cluster aggregation(CCA) to distinguish it from particle-cluster aggregation(CCA) to distinguish it from particle-cluster aggregation phenomena. 1, record 4, English, - cluster%2Dcluster%20aggregation
