The Geographic Board of Canada was set up in 1897 and was succeeded by the Canadian Board on Geographic Names on August 3, 1948. In 1961, the responsibility of naming places was transferred to the provinces, and the names authority was reorganized as the Canadian Permanent Committee on Geographical Names(CPCGN) on July 13, 1961. Since 1979, the authority for naming in Indian reserves, national parks, and military reserves is jointly held by the appropriate federal department and the province concerned. In 1984, the territories in turn assumed responsibility for naming the entities in their own jurisdiction. In March 2000, the national coordinating body for toponymic activities became the Geographical Names Board of Canada(GNBC). 6, record 2, English, - Geographical%20Names%20Board%20of%20Canada

Necessity and proportionality have always been core principles of both branches of the jus belli principles that apply to both the authority to employ military force and the regulation of actual employment. However, in the jus ad bellum context, they have never before been viewed as principles to regulate operational and tactical execution. Instead, in that context they frame the legality of national or multinational resort to military force in self-defense. Once the decision is made to employ force pursuant to this authority, the jus in bello variant of these principles(necessity of the mission and proportionality of collateral damage) operate to regulate the application of combat power during mission execution(in other words, they provide the foundation for the regulation of the application of combat power in the context of the self-defense-justified mission). 4, record 7, English, - law%20of%20war

1, record 15, Spanish, - mando%20total

The Canadian Forces Electronic Warfare Centre(CFEWC) exists to deliver comprehensive EW support to CF military operations. CFEWC is endeavouring to be the expert authority on technical EW matters within the Canadian Forces. In 1990, the Electronic Warfare Operational Support Centre(EWOSC) project was initiated with the intent of consolidating operational, intelligence and engineering support to the CF EW community. Under the initial phase of the EWOSC project(IEWOSC), a centralized CF EW database was created, the environmental integrated support stations were established, EW threat analysis was begun and a common logistics and administrative support cell was stood up. The Canadian Forces Electronic Warfare Centre(CFEWC) was established to encompass these capabilities within facilities constructed at the Communication Research Canada(CRC)-Shirley's Bay Campus. The initial construction was completed in 1994. CFEWC is mandated with the maintenance and development of the CF Electronic Warfare Database(CFEWDB). 1, record 31, English, - Canadian%20Forces%20Electronic%20Warfare%20Centre

International military tribunals. Military tribunals such as those established for the trial of the major German and Japanese war criminals have made a significant contribution to the development of the law on the duties of the individual in international law, as on aspects of the laws of war. The present-day authority of these judgments, however, rests less on their formulation by a tribunal than on the acceptance of the legal principles underlying the judgments by the General Assembly of the United Nations. 2, record 34, English, - International%20Military%20Tribunal

In preparation for a peace-keeping mission in Cambodia(United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia(UNTAC)), the Secretary-General suggested the creation of a UN advance mission to help maintain the cease-fire previously established. This advance mission, consisting of mainly military liaison officers, was to become operational as soon as the Paris Agreements, a comprehensive political settlement of the Cambodia conflict, were to be signed. The mission officially began in November 1991 and its mandate was later expanded to undertake major de-mining efforts to assure the safe repatriation of Cambodian refugees. 1, record 40, English, - United%20Nations%20Advance%20Mission%20in%20Cambodia
