Medial tibial stress syndrome(MTSS) is one of the most common leg injuries in athletes and soldiers. The incidence of MTSS is reported as being between 4% and 35% in military personnel and athletes. The name given to this condition refers to pain on the posteromedial tibial border during exercise, with pain on palpation of the tibia over a length of at least 5 cm. Histological studies fail to provide evidence that MTSS is caused by periostitis as a result of traction. It is caused by bony resorption that outpaces bone formation of the tibial cortex. Evidence for this overloaded adaptation of the cortex is found in several studies describing MTSS findings on bone scan, magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), high-resolution computed tomography(CT) scan and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. 2, record 1, English, - medial%20tibial%20stress%20syndrome

Military pilots may get help in locating ground targets from far away with a new electronic process that examines TV-like imagery and selects potential targets. The technique, called automatic target cueing, is designed to enhance the performance of such imaging devices as forward-looking infrared(FLIR) systems. 3, record 2, English, - automatic%20target%20recognition

Another key challenge is that of size, weight and power consumption(SWAP). Many embedded systems are used in industries where there is constant additional pressure to reduce SWAP. Examples include medical imaging, where there is a push to develop portable diagnostic imaging systems enabling easier use and increased flexibility necessitating smaller, lighter processing solutions. In military and aerospace applications, many systems will be used in airborne, sea-going or land-based vehicles where space and payload for processing electronics is generally limited, as is the overall power consumption that can be supported. 1, record 3, English, - size%2C%20weight%20and%20power
