In preparation for a peace-keeping mission in Cambodia(United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia(UNTAC)), the Secretary-General suggested the creation of a UN advance mission to help maintain the cease-fire previously established. This advance mission, consisting of mainly military liaison officers, was to become operational as soon as the Paris Agreements, a comprehensive political settlement of the Cambodia conflict, were to be signed. The mission officially began in November 1991 and its mandate was later expanded to undertake major de-mining efforts to assure the safe repatriation of Cambodian refugees. 1, record 3, English, - United%20Nations%20Advance%20Mission%20in%20Cambodia

3, record 3, French, - Mission%20pr%C3%A9paratoire%20des%20Nations%20Unies%20au%20Cambodge
