Mental fitness refers to the intentional practices and skills that help the mind function at its best. It's a proactive approach, more like physical training than physical health monitoring. Where mental health is a state of being, mental fitness is the deliberate strengthening of the mind. Mental fitness involves developing qualities such as resilience, focus, adaptability, emotional regulation, and cognitive flexibility. It's not about eliminating difficult emotions or striving for constant positivity. It equips people with the capacity to navigate challenges more effectively, recover from stress, and maintain clarity during pressure. Crucially, mental fitness is not the absence of mental illness. Someone managing depression, anxiety, or another condition can still practise mental fitness and benefit from it.

Prebunking is the process of debunking lies, tactics or sources before they strike. Its proponents describe it as a sort of vaccine for the mind that strengthens people's ability to think critically and makes them immune to most misinformation or propaganda. Like with vaccines, it is not necessary to immunize everybody : when prebunking reaches a critical threshold of the susceptible population, a phenomenon similar to herd immunity takes place : immune individuals do not repeat or deny false claims outright, preventing their spread.

The hope derives from the finding that some complex enzymes display more than one catalytic ability, and have different domains with characteristic active sites with specificity for particular substrates and conversions.... Consideration of the development of "synzymes" leads immediately to the question of feasibility at reasonable cost in a reasonable time period. One obvious question is how faithfully must the structure of the enzyme active center be duplicated?

There is growing interest in synthetic catalysts that mimic enzymes. Bioorganic chemists study enzyme models with the hope that results of their investigations will aid in the understanding of enzyme mechanism. With the development of industrial catalysis to the point where improvement in selectivity is a central theme in research, many believe that abiotic catalysts constructed with enzymes in mind could be of value in the chemical process industry.
